How to properly clone?

Hello folks, I'm new to the forums so first off I will explain my situation. I usually get clones for free from a friend( I have bad anxiety & would rather not use governmental juiced up medications that just make it worse :wall: ) and he always offers me medical strains to help. I have 3 of them & 2 are doing extremely well, one is slacking at the moment but should take off in another week or so.

My main question is how can I properly clone these plants? I have done some research and to my knowledge this is how it is done, please do correct me if I am incorrect :)

My plants are roughly 1.5ft - 1ft 10in , I would cut a stem at 45 degree angle(roughly) with roughly 2 leaf high on the stem, immediately putting my cuttings into a water glass to stop air from entering the stem etc. Now this is where things get dusty for me, after I have my cuttings would I plant them in a fine potting soil? or a coarse sand mixture? & roughly how deep into this mixture? 1.5" to 2"?

I would like to have this done as easily as possible because I would like to give a few plants to friends and family so that all they have to do is plant and water etc to make it simpler for them.

As for additional information that may help, I use miracle grow for tomatoes to provide nutrient( 500ml every sunday into the soil & a light spray on the leaves every morning at sunrise.

Any help is appreciated :) Many thanks!

There are quite a few videos on You Tube showing step-by-step how to do it. You sound like this might be the easiest way to get it done.

You will need root hormone, a tray with hood, optional propagation matte, rockwool cubes or peat pellets ( I think that's what tey're called ) once you have your cutting, cut a small slit on the stem, dip in root hormone, place in your choice cube or peat or soil, make sure to squeese the cube or pellet so it wraps tight against the stem, ( I've seen ppl wrap an elastic band to hold it tight against the stem ) place in tray with a small layer of perlite and add a little water to keep it moist, with hood, keep warm and high humidity, with a propagation matte I keep mine at 75 to 80 dg, should root in 5 to 7 days maybe more. ...Hope this helps.

I think I got it fellas, I didn't use root hormone but made my own little mixture and it seems to be working well :) thanks for the help fellas will post some pics up later in the season!
