For those with c99, Apollo 11/13 experience.

Hi all I have a few questions regarding these strains. See, I tend to dislike indicas and have a hard time relaxing when i smoke them. Or hybrids for that matter.

Part of it is an annoying sense of paranoia but the majority of it is that I just suck at life high lol. This limits me to only smoking alone pretty much before I am about to go to sleep. Like i feel awkward and dont function well. Im looking for a strain that doesn't make my vision hazey or mess with my bodily motor functions.

I guess a way to describe it would be an opiate like high? Like happy and giggly but still very clear headed. If you guys have any ideas that would be absolutely fantastic. The attitude is about sold out of apollo 13 bx by tga and I wanted to pull the trigger before it was too late and i missed out like i did on bhodis apollo 11 f2s! I realize tga strains are considered generally unstable but ive read a lot of good things about the bx that all seem pretty uniform.

I also bought two packs of mosca's c99 bx and a pack of female seeds c99 as well. I will probably end up buying the frost bros c99 to as I just really want to find something Ill love and can function on and c99 and apollo are what seem to be the answer. I appreciate the input!

If your doing all them it would be criminal not to keep back pollen or a male from the best pick

If your fond of C99 Im sure you would like TGA's Chernobyl. Only problem is its less stable, would be as great project though to fem out some of TGAs best phenos.

i've had joey weed C99 and used a JW C99 x A11 male as my last breeder. C99 is an OK strain, but too specific for me. i onmly lkike it for activities. it's not the best strain for chilling out on, though easier to do it with than similar kali mist. it also doesn't have enough psychoactivity for my tastes. i just use it for breeding faster IBLs without adding skunk & stone.

i would suggest trying 8 miles high when that's back in stock. it isn't an overpowering sativa and is similar to a generic haze. the buzz is mostly clearheaded and euphoric with enough psychoactivity to make it fun. just a couple light hits of it, and i was more interested in playing tunes & dancing the robot with precise body control that whatever i was doing before. it's energy profile is clean and neutral with no raciness or stone, just a mellow happy buzz that doesn't overwhelm. i like more potent strains better, but would be 24/7 happy with just 8mh.

i would say go with apollo before cinderella. it's less racy, and probably paranoid (other C99s are trippier than JW's motivational pheno) with a mellow trippy buzz. you could do worse than try TGA A13. i want to try bodhi's A11 genius if he ever gets that back.

a nice midrange buzz that's euphoric but not as stony as skunk #1 you might want to try is DNA genetics' lemon skunk. it's kind of like JW C99, but with less raciness & a more neutral overall euphoric buzz. i don't like skunk, but i do like lemon skunk well enough.

if you have paranoia issues, then i think jack's cleaner 2, haze skunk & sweet haze might be too much for you. those are my 3 favorites, but i like getting all the way high with no stone at all. those are going to be more potent than 8 miles high. a lot of jacks & hazes etc. have similar watered down buzzes that don't live up to the paranoia & trippiness that real haze should include. in that category, i'd suggest john sinclair's sativa trans love simply because it makes generic haze buds faster than anything else i've grown that smokes the same. it's buzz is more well rounded than C99 without giving you an IBL beatdown like haze skunk will if you overdo it.

I had Brothers Grimm C99 it was crazy. Almost like eating mushrooms and very racy. I tried Moscas C99 only had a few seeds and didnt get a keeper. Super Lemon Haze is a good sativa high without the paranoia or Sour D is also really nice and no paranoia.

i just grew out the frost brothers pineapple c99, and i let them go to about 9 weeks, and in doing so, i got rid of all the racy aspects of it and it turned into a much more couch lock effect..
i wish i had pulled them around the 7 week mark now as i was looking forward to a more sativa high from them, but i couldn't bring myself to think any strain would finish that early as past experience has told me i like even indica's more towards 10 weeks or so...

check out frost bro's c99, they got it broken down right into 3 distinct pheno's, the pineapple, and two others, and dizzle is good people to support imho...

honestly, i just don't get the obsession with pics everyone else has. the REAL important info is how it smokes and you can't smoke a pic. i don't even like taking pics and only do it as STFU insurance against being called a liar. i'd trade every pic on every website for an accurate smoke report any day. as someone who has no use at all for being even a little stoned, i NEED that info

What would you say out of females, moscas and frost brothers (if youve grown them) would you say is closest to grims?
As much as id love a project im pretty new at this and my first goal is to just find something i enjoy smoking consistently lol

Its not the paranoia thats the biggest issue but the anxiety and the poor functioning when im stoned if that makes sense. What do you mean by "racy" ? Like an amphetamine raciness ? Thatd id be fine with as long as its a clear headed raciness lol. Sorry im such a newb...but dealers generally lie and the dispensarys around these parts are garbage so i cant say with 100 percent certainty that ive smoked a pure sativa or even close to pure. As far as trippiness goes...are you refering to moscas? If thats the case id probably want to try frost bros then im guessing because from what i can tell, their the closest to the original? I know ive seen you say that JWs is closest to the original before and since I cant get jws anymore either should i try frost bros if i want that motivation? cause that doesnt sound too bad...much better then laying on the couch wishing i could do more without getting confused or distracted.

I missed out on the 8mh too :/ atleast until 2013...i had my eye on that one too! You think i should pull the trigger on the a13bx?

oh jeeze lol i cant imagine myself doing much if i feel like im tripping on mushies the whole time im high...maybe the c99 was a bad idea? Thats to bad about the moscas though i have 20 seeds of that :/ Thank you for the suggestions though!



maybe im not explaining myself well enough. I know everyone reacts to stuff differently so it might be hard to imagine what im saying. I guess another way to put it is i want some mood elevation and giggles, but if i had to do something like homework i could do it just as well as i could sober! like i wouldnt be forgetting shit while i was in the middle of it...not in so much of a "daze" per say? Or if i was talking to a girl i wouldnt feel so awkward and goofy when i was trying to hold a conversation? because im definitely not like that when im sober. Maybe no such high exists... or maybe its just how i am lol. but if thats the case that sucks because i used to have so much fun smoking and now it just fills me with anxiety. Thank you all for your time and input! I just want to see if i have any options.

You grew that out? Ive heard some bad things about barneys but maybe it was just the growers. I do love that name though!

yeah grew it out it was really nice. I'm going to be growing it again for sure. i had no problems at all with it except maybe that it grew real big real fast and stretched through the roof. it was exactly as they describe it on the tude.

i have grown 3 barneys strains now and they have all been nice with no dramas.

if you're talking about C99, you can get workable heights out of that if you flip early enough. my tallest cindy was under 3 feet tall when i flipped it and her sisters at the second or third leafset. that's also why i had a low yield i'm sure though.

especially using multiple strains, SCROGging is the best way to control plant height as well as light penetration.

i was very interested in the A13 myself except for that baby poo pheno description. i have a very low threshold for yucky. the "original" apollo 11 pheno descriptions were lemony with hints of apple. that sounds nicer. i hink i might try 3D though as A13 crossed with JTR with a friendlier name to boot is a reefer threefer. there's a lot of apollo and cinderella in TGA's line eg. jilly bean has C99 in it.

well i thought my 2-3 JC2s were similar enough. i was totally happy with the trippy buzz i got out of those. his gear does seem to favor "grimm" genetics in a few strains.

pheno hunt or not, with bodhi's A11 genius out of circulation for a while, i'd consider it a good thing at least one other breeder is still breeding with apollos. it's sad when great non-commercial strains go the wayside.

Yes very much true with most of their gear, AP13BX is different though.

It isnt a hybrid like the other gear, BX stands for backcross. I just ran 3 different TGA strains. Plushberry and Querkle were all over the map pheno wise.

Apollo was pretty much uniform as a BX should be.
