Late subber here. Good luck with the 2000w HPS. I'm sure yer gonna get a big yield with that nice setup. I just wanted to comment on your opening post here that referred to your last grow.Hello once again RIU Community,
The following will be my second grow journal contribution to RIU since I became a member. In my last grow I did 3 Fire OG's under 6 39w Par Spectrum T5's. While I loved the quality of the medicine that I grew, the t5's did exactly what I thought they would do in the flowering period and made the bud a bit more leafy then I would have liked.
I'm sure there will be those who disagree, but personally, I believe you had way more blue in your PUR T5 fixture than you should have for flowering.
You saw how nice your veg growth was under your light spectrum, but you don't need all that blue in flower. Ya gotta get some of the UVL 660's if you want to get density and less leaf in your buds. And keep your fixture as close as possible to your canopy because T5's lack the ability to penetrate very well. Or get some 660nm LEDs. I've had quite the success with MH + 660nm LEDs. Excellent results.
HPS is good for simplicity as a stand alone light source. As I'm sure you are well aware. Mixing HPS and MH works well if you want to minimize stretching.
I gotta get back to simple methods soon as I've got way more shit going than I can handle. More lights going than candles on Gandhi's last birthday cake.
