Picture this.

The car in front of you is doing 80k at 20 meters out from an intersection and the traffic light changes from green to yellow. Safe option would be to cruise on through. Shit i can run a light thats been red for 2 seconds because the next light wouldnt even be green yet so there would not be any traffic. It's crazy how many people see an orange light and put the anchors on just because a colour told them to

Yea it is a form a brain washing. There are laws against subliminal adverts but you cant really keep them out of your head. If you take a marketing course day one stuff is like color and the influence of feeling. Like for instance the colors red and yellow promote hunger. So even if you look a a bright MCDs sign you think hey I'm hungry and their food will hit the spot fast. Even though last week you swore you wouldn't eat that crap because mixed with the bud light you drank giving you the night shits. So now I usually just download all my tv to avoid it. I have hbo dvr and pay for cable but I'd rather avoid the commercials all together then simple fast forward through them. At least if your conscious about what they are doing to you you can reason against yourself and make a better decision.

I think I remember that!

My other memory was of a grass-roots approach in NYC. There, the fellow behind you will keep a helpful eye on the crosslight, and when it turns yellow he'll hit the horn. Keeps a guy ready to allow a car or two across before the curtain of pedestrians closes the intersection for the duration. cn
