I don't believe in the term. in most situations there is one person that is closer to being right and one person that is closer to being wrong. Agreeing to disagree is simply this: "well I am going to believe what I do regardless of what evidence, fact or logic you put before me" . This is akin to "I will believe that to my grave" or "You will never convince me otherwise". These statements are not the sentiments of people who are truely interested in reality.
See, the thing is, you seem to only see YOUR "reality" and discount everyone elses. Kinda what you claim i do right?

They didn't defend their 2nd amendment rights by themselves against their own government. Big difference.
It WAS their own government that they were fighting. As to whether or not it was about the 2nd Amendment is up to debate to a point. i believe it was at least PARTLY a cause.

and if you get caught driving home with it they will run it's transfer record and then you are up against the wall spreadin em and getting shackled.

the only way to avoid the forms and waiting periods and the "Totally Not Registration" gun registration is to own used guns and declare under oath you had them before the law came into effect. if your gun has a serial number that occurs after the law went into effect then you will be caught,, and charged with perjury as well, or maybe youll get declared a gun-runner (only obama's boys can do that) and then you'll be buns up kneelin', while Bubba is wheelin' and dealin'.

So, kinda the same thing as many in the US face for a plant right? Hasn't stopped the canna-culture from blossoming.

in california "Transferring" a weapon without going through a licensed gun dealer,, all the forms and all the waiting periods is a felony punishable by 2 years in slam and a $15000 fine.

i cant even give my nephew a new gun for yule without going through a gun dealer for the "Transfer"
Well, in Texas it's not like that.

does anyone know the laws governing guns in other first world countries?
England even knives are strictly controlled. guns in the hands of citizens have been tightly restricted since the middle ages

Switzerland every citizen between x and y ages has a government issued ACTUAL assault rifle, or submachinegun, and a government supplied strictly controlled ammunition supply. personal arms and hunting guns are moderately easy to get, but ammunition is tightly controlled. every bullet you buy must be used at the gun club where you bought it, no unauthorized ammunition allowed.

Mexico this one is complicated:
no legal ownership of any "military caliber" gun (9mm, .30/06, 308, 7mm mauser, 303 brit, etc, only calibers which have NEVER been issued by any military organization worldwide.
gun must be kept at your "shooting club"
ammunition can only be bought through a single government authorized retailer and is all purchases are carefully controlled and recorded
to own a gun that does not exist solely on the shooting club's grounds requires special permits can be acquired but only through a strict authorization program, and no regular citizen can get one.

Somalia no guns anywhere, complete firearms prohibition, thus no violence or "gun crime" at all.

They'd have to do it with........ GUNS!
Kynes was having fun. SOmalia is NOT 1st world and it has guns, mostly in the hands of Warlord henchmen. I was there in 1993, people shot at me. I think SOmalia just voted in a Constitution a week or so ago, so Government there is clearly disabled and scrambling to get on its feet.

yeah right, 80 people a day killed by someone else? nope, sorry you have been MISINFORMED. 70% of your statistic is accidental shootings and suicides.

Yes the police have guns and not the citizens , life couldnt be better or safer.
Safer? Since Great Britain, Canada and Australia started banning firearms their violent crime has gone up. That isn't safer by any means.

  • In the four years after the United Kingdom banned handguns in 1996, gun crime rose by an astounding 40 percent.
  • Since Australia's 1996 laws banning most guns and making it a crime to use a gun defensively, armed robberies rose by 51 percent, unarmed robberies by 37 percent, assaults by 24 percent and kidnappings by 43 percent.
  • While murders in Australia fell by 3 percent, manslaughter rose by 16 percent.

How do these damn guns keep going off all by themselves?

BTW:
270 Americans die from prescription medications (thank you FDA)
100+ Americans die everyday in car crashes (thank you DMV)
