Another low cost option for lighting it to look into aquarium HO T5 lighting. HO T5 bulbs put out more lumens and PAR per watt than CFL bulbs.
Yeah. Order it on Sunday night and get it Monday! Not the next Monday but close. They "overcharge" in real stores because, well, they have a real store with rent, insurance, wages, withholding, Medicare taxes, utility bills . . . . .. Now, I don't know where anybody works (or where you even live) but what goes around comes comes around. Don't spend any money locally - that's your choice. No whining when they people you shun have no money to send back around. And it really does work that way. That's what the internet is for

someone stated above, they don't want to wait 10 days for neoprene collars. Not ALL hydro stores are out to get you. If you form a tight relationship with the store, you might find it has some benefits. I know my customers feel that way.

I started my store because i felt ripped off by some of the ones i shopped at. EVERY person that walks into my store gets 20% off retail. If your a regular, I go to 25% and if you are a real regular, No tax on top of that.Yea yea...I was being a smart ass. You also can find stores that have free 3 day shipping or free 2 day shipping so that is not a valid argument. Yes I support local I have never bought hydro online. You do get benefits I get %10 discount in my store because I go so often. Also he let me know about a hydro show that I went to and got $700 in free smaple nutes among other things.
Some stores do reem you and are just money mongers though you can't deny that. Some are reliable and trustworthy and do their best to price the lowest they can without going bankrupt.
At the same time people don't have stores around them so online would be a better choice and if you really fall for 10 day shipping you are not looking very hard at all and getting ripped off.
That is what people like. to support to small mom and pop stores that cater to the customer and give that extra help and support.I started my store because i felt ripped off by some of the ones i shopped at. I'm surrounded By huge wal-mart type hydro stores, but, Because I have that personal touch, I have been able to carve out a good customer base. I try to see myself as the customer and treat them the way I would want to be treated.
Hear ya and I do it both ways. All I advocate is supporting your local shops and your local Hells Angels.Yea yea...I was being a smart ass. This is what I love about hydro shops!! I shop at my local hydro shop and stay loyal to them because when I walk in they know me by my first name, hell they even fire up a joint or pipe with me in the back of the store, hell they even give me 20% every time I make a purchase over 50 bucks. I'll get hardware and shit from Home Depot but I also support my local hydro shops because hell they support me.I started my store because i felt ripped off by some of the ones i shopped at. Or a T5 from your local hydro store that sells brands of lighting designed specifically for horticulture!Another low cost option for lighting it to look into aquarium HO T5 lighting. HO T5 bulbs put out more lumens and PAR per watt than CFL bulbs.
Anyway some helpful input to this thread. Yea go nab a T5 from your local hydro store. I was looking at Lowes and OSH for all kinds of CFL's and T8's but all in all ended up buying a 4' 4 bulb T5 from my local hydro shop. It was about 10-15 dollars more than the online counterpart but I didn't want to wait and I knew the store would take care of me better than an online dealer.Or a T5 from your local hydro store that sells brands of lighting designed specifically for horticulture!
