Another low cost option for lighting it to look into aquarium HO T5 lighting. HO T5 bulbs put out more lumens and PAR per watt than CFL bulbs.
That's what the internet is for
I hear you bro.Yeah. Order it on Sunday night and get it Monday! Not the next Monday but close. They "overcharge" in real stores because, well, they have a real store with rent, insurance, wages, withholding, Medicare taxes, utility bills . . . . .. Now, I don't know where anybody works (or where you even live) but what goes around comes comes around. Don't spend any money locally - that's your choice. No whining when they people you shun have no money to send back around. And it really does work that way.
someone stated above, they don't want to wait 10 days for neoprene collars. Not ALL hydro stores are out to get you. If you form a tight relationship with the store, you might find it has some benefits. I know my customers feel that way.

Yea yea...I was being a smart ass. You also can find stores that have free 3 day shipping or free 2 day shipping so that is not a valid argument. Yes I support local I have never bought hydro online. You do get benefits I get %10 discount in my store because I go so often. Also he let me know about a hydro show that I went to and got $700 in free smaple nutes among other things.
Some stores do reem you and are just money mongers though you can't deny that. Some are reliable and trustworthy and do their best to price the lowest they can without going bankrupt.
At the same time people don't have stores around them so online would be a better choice and if you really fall for 10 day shipping you are not looking very hard at all and getting ripped off.
I started my store because i felt ripped off by some of the ones i shopped at. EVERY person that walks into my store gets 20% off retail. If your a regular, I go to 25% and if you are a real regular, No tax on top of that.
I'm surrounded By huge wal-mart type hydro stores, but, Because I have that personal touch, I have been able to carve out a good customer base. I try to see myself as the customer and treat them the way I would want to be treated.

Or a T5 from your local hydro store that sells brands of lighting designed specifically for horticulture!
