Most of the "rights" they are clamoring for can obtained by jumping through hoops, hiring lawyers and such. This is NOT one of them. They can not file married and receive those tax benefits. It's social engineering using the tax code. To me, this is what should be mentioned the most. It's also a reason why the government shouldn't be involved in marriage.
Making some people jump through hoops to obtain the same bennies as others who don't have to jump is wrong too. We are starting to understand this but with the same token heteros who are NOT married can't get the same bennies as same sex couples. I understand why (they CAN get married, gays in most states can't), but it's yet another reason why government shouldn't be in the marriage game.

I know you actually believe all that. Gays can marry in every state, EVERY state. They get all the benefits any married person does. However, this holds true only if they marry the opposite gender. This holds true for non-gays, also. So, this is not about "equal rights", it's about forcing acceptance of same sex marriage. The "equal rights" bit is just misdirection.

What you say Red is absolutely true, but why should it be? Keep in mind thought that I'm one of the people here who reluctantly say siblings should have the same rights to marry, it grosses me out thinking that, it really does. But it matters nil to me what 2 people do with their lives.
