we were just trying to say it in a nicer way.this is what were all trying to say
Great job man looking good, however you do realize that if you hooked up some ducting and an inline fan to those hoods you could remove about 75% of the heat those lights produce, just cut a hole right in the sealing and mount the inline fan in it (exhausting into the attic), of course you'll need a carbon filter or ozone generator to remove the smell but totally worth it, if you did that you probably wouldn't even need another AC unit. Also, I would highly recommend adding a 400W ceramic metal halide over a regular metal halide, much wider spectrum and produces better results, ask anyone who has used them. Good job and keep us posted.i just bought a 250$ 12,000 btu window unit. it was the most powerful costco sold. that was to replace the best one i could find at walmart. im considering cutting a hole in the door and using a portable a/c to allow even more cold air; however, i dont feel like doing room construction during flower. next cycle i can just put in one less plant and ill have room to put in 2 window units and save myself troubles.
at this point im not worried about g/watt ratios, those "on/off" lights are positioned for quality reasons (bud density and trich production) and the "on" lights are focused on making a good footprint. maybe the plants will gain from the bursts more then not having them at all is all
thanks for your imput however since i am renting i can not alter much and cutting holes would be a bitch to explain lol. also this is a duplex so i have people close by, i dont want them wondering why there attic smells like herbs. how i have it is very nice, i know people love vented hoods but i am not convinced they are the best bet for every situation, im still a bit fan of them and maybe even next grow i will use it that way. i have 2 different 8 inch fans and all the ducting i could need, things just worked best this way this time. i have a carbon filter filtering the room itself and it contains it all. i feel nice and safe like this and heat is not a issue (still the heat worries?)Great job man looking good, however you do realize that if you hooked up some ducting and an inline fan to those hoods you could remove about 75% of the heat those lights produce, just cut a hole right in the sealing and mount the inline fan in it (exhausting into the attic), of course you'll need a carbon filter or ozone generator to remove the smell but totally worth it, if you did that you probably wouldn't even need another AC unit. this is a good tip, i really haddent thought of doing thing before and its a method i may use in the future. for now its more important to have a really normal looking window though, maybe next time around i can figure out a different way but for a few reasons fans blowing air out the window like that is currently not possible, one being it would blow air directly into our faces because that window is 10 ft from our hang out spot in the back yard around a campfire.ns plants ,looks very healthy.could run inline fan and ducting to a foiled up widnow, vent there.,if yure in a dup. gonna reak soon.and vent the room ,exchange the air room throughthe inline fan cooling all the lights and get the heat out of te growroom,,not cut out holes..rdr.
ya i know how to duct things thats what iv done the most of i just wanted to give it a go without the glass as iv said a few times already =) im not really looking for pointers i guess.....i've rented and did 2 to a room and used windows as venting.the ducting goin to the cieling was removed.
Lol didn't you know he's a pro raider? Look at his badass setup lolcool, have agood grow.
i never understood the guys who came here and posted questions or wanted comments and then spent all their time arguing the advice they were given. maybe i'm getting to old for this forum shit...Lol didn't you know he's a pro raider? Look at his badass setup lol
Naw just every grower knows everything. This guy is probably 40 something like my buddy's uncle who grows. Can't yield enough to even break even but when you give your opinion it's wrong. Because he is intelligent and obviously knows more than us stoners. OP have fun, I'll see your gear on Craigslist in a few months you know it all clown.i never understood the guys who came here and posted questions or wanted comments and then spent all their time arguing the advice they were given. maybe i'm getting to old for this forum shit...
Nice grow man,Great room.while i may have offended some of you i think it is because your egos are so large you cant stand your advise to not be taken, not that i am unable to take it. the vast majority of the "help" or "advise" i was given was silly to try to do mid grow. next grow i may change it up but doing all that is unneeded stress to a plant. may as well tell me to go buy a house and move grow rooms before harvest while your at it. what if i dont have another 1k$ to buy this guys brand A/C? well i guess my plants wont grow.. fact it the A/C i have in there works great. buds look good too if im not mistaken..
many of you said i need to vent my hoods, while i said i have done that every time in the past and wanted to try it out without the glass (to test something i read on this forum and to the advise of members here no less) and when i manage to do that at a average of over 50 watt per sq ft and my temps are great i decide to add another 2200 watts 75% of the time and i SUDDENLY have everyone up in arms about me hurting my plants and reducing light when they need it most. well to that i say FUCK OFF. most people dont even run half these watts in a same size room. raider posted saying he did 2k in a room. WOW ok so im doing 3x what you did but i suck...?
dont get it wrong guys im not trying for a gram per watt or even a half gram per watt. im going for 3 lbs, and thats a average of like .18/watt or something really low. im throwing lots of light at it because i want at least 3 lbs. that would give me plenty to last everything i need. anything more then the 3 lbs is great and makes for a blessing. but saying im gonna end up posting my stuf on CL is just dumb... iv done too many grows and dont plan to stop any time soon. i generally run in the 1kw range so a lb gets me by fine, still think i cant manage with whatever i get and will be forced to quit? oh please...
after all that maybe i should say the type of things i would call constructive criticism: comments about nute issues after looking at the pictures of my plants. maybe a burn or tip about some additive. maybe ask a question about something im feeding them or advise on other CHANGABLE aspects of the grow.
i admit there was something a guy said on the first page about my lights that i typed a poor response to (a incorrect response at that) but it was pretty trivial and easy to change and boailed down to switching a vertical bulb for one in a reflector. but thats about it as far as true advise iv seen so far... 1 post in 4 pages of mainly people ranting i need to vent my hoods or buy a diff brand A/C after i repeatedly said temps are no issue... to those of you who leave : good riddance.
any who stay... maybe we can all enjoy some pics of buds together while they continue the trip to ripeness.
