I'm saying, if your on a constant high dosage of the junk- IE have a habit, and need surgery or have a painful terminal illness IE bone cancer etc, then what if anything do they give you or can you take for pain? This has always worried me, I think part of the way and reason opiates work for people with pain is that their bodies are not accustom to them, but for someone who is I imagine they will offer little or no relief
They probably won't. But you can be his advocate and see to it that his treating physician (and nurse! Make friends with the ones who run things.) maintains him at "terminal comfort" levels or whatever the term is. cn
