My room is so sealed off the lights keep my humidity @ around 39-50% depending on which state the grow is in.but a closet stays so dry.I have an old closet with unpainted cedar walls and it just sucks the moisture out of my drying buds.rarely takes over a week unless its trophy cola's.I treat them well so they keep there dankness. One other thing is unless it is a super stanky strain, remove all excess leaf and pins left from cutting. It looks cool to have a leaf wrapped around the lower part of a nug but it sucks to taste chlorophyl.Once the outside is dry start putting them into whatever your working with and the moisture will permeate the bud again, keep burping at least 15 mins every time you think about it.If the bud is too soaked put it back to dry and try again. The difference between a week and three weeks is so much. Some weed you just cant do shit with so when you find a badass plant do your best to always keep a Mom.I kept that shoreline with me or within reach for like 20 years. Now I'm having to call in some big favors to get one more cutting.I had forgot about that til someone mentioned it so now I missing the strain.

So it'd humid as shit, about to start drying. I have a 2 fans, square ones that sit on the floor, and a in line fan and charcoal filter. I don't have a humidifier so.... Any ideas guys?
You mean a dehumidifier RT?Like hydrotech says a week makes worlds of difference.A month even better sometimes.Paper bag werks great for moisture removel when somewhat dry and just trying to get the dense nugs moisture out.

Just found out through its manual that the portable ac unit I use in my flower room is also a dehumidifier. I'm reading it to be a 100% sure. So 60- 70% humidity should be good for the drying room right?

At this point you have the best advice around...
making a mother plant from "keeper weed" was an outstanding remark
its rare to come across that "super pheno" in a pack...
but when you do...trust...its awesome

Thats how most of the clone only strains got started man...
someone noticed a stand out & kept a cut just in case it was primo

rep+ if i knew how...but i dont... so...yeah, ill just stfu now

@Hydrotech there not that that stinky but do smell good so I should remove all leaves before I hang right? Yeah clorophyl does suck. I have had them for like six days in the dark, flushed them with cleared and they have just been chilling. I haven't watered them in the past few days bcuz the soil it still pretty moist. Thinking tomorrow will make 7days in the flush and darkness so I'm going to start n dry.

All A/C units remove Humidity.I own a HVAC bus.The removel of Humidty is what makes condition space confortable.Humidty is heat,by removing moisture from the air makes it a Conditioned area. All that water from your A/C Evaporitive coil is from the Humidty in the conditioned area.In drier climates i.e.Arizona theres very little humidity and some still use Water chillers,Cold water with a fan moving air thru,i.e Swamp box.

Yep and as they dry more leaf fragments and pins will show themselves.Snip them as you see them.

Wow my Pheno sativa dom BB is killer.Ended up looking like thai leaves with middle leafs only as wide as my little finger.Glad i took some cuts. Only 1 had this characteristic out of 9 females and only 1 male out of 10.Going to soiless now temps are gonna get cooler and see how much i can push this strain it has been a very good yielder.

Yeah Buddy!!!

My turbo klone finally did the trick...
Lush white spikes & tips everywhere
...kinda weird tho...
I shoved the stems in really deep
Now i have some stems that are 2" & full of roots?!?....
looks funky...ill post pics

So how come some people swear by hanging the whole plant? They say oils come from the stem, spread through out the plant as it dries is this true? Some also say to hang them branch by branch for whatever reason. They all say that the humidity and the temp should be around 65-75 degrees and 50-60% humidity. I need scientific period man lol, not opinions. I know mj is a sensitive subject so scientist don't really research it as much as other things, but damn I know someone out there knows a thing or to either from research or experience. Please enlighten me.

I hope that helped broski,

I can only say what I have done...& i clip fan leaves off ...
then hang the whole plant...Its more of a control thing for me
I dont like to have to account for each branch...ya know.
At the same time I dont need fan leafs slowing down my drying.

i was trying to "eyeball" my jars for sweat...thats a no go for me
I will tell anyone...get a hydrometer...
watch the output ...then work from there...

As shitty as this is to say...its live & learn
As a new grower...
I was foolish to think that I could dry/cure my bud "right" WITHOUT a hydrometer...
Growers that can eyeball a drying/curing plant are seasoned...or slightly gifted.
then again thats hindsight for you.

I'm pretty sure cutting the branches is mainly for easier trimming and quicker drying. I've never heard any benefit to cutting individual branches other than that. Agree on hygrometers.. they make things a LOT easier

One more rant..

Cali growers are pissy about the flooded market...yet one thing is consistent with in every topic
excellent product is just that EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
& that product will ALWAYS fetch its fee...

(Whats the God Damn Point already!!!)

Just cause growers finish a solid plant(s)....
doesnt mean they know how to "produce" DANK!...im sorry...its like that
Im not saying that they cant...
cause i know texas can romp with cali & denver...
its just a matter of perfecting the skillz

A few years ago, it was all about weight...oooh you will "never" get a lb per plant with a 400W...
...enter the fucking scrog...
I mastered the technique...then remastered the technique when Dru dropped the secrets.

Now my focus is on dank...10+ smell, 10+ flush/taste, 10+ manicure/bag appeal, 8.5+ for potency...on any strain I grow
& after I nail the dank...Im going to start breeding. I can feel it.
Come up with some fly azz kill bill shit & call it "gulf stream 4"

By the way... 4 different growers... all mk-ultra buds^^^^^

Peace.

So my plants have been siting in the dark for 7 days , flushed them with clearex. Today the run off ppm is 534. Should I go ahead and cut them n string em up?

If you are happy with the trichome colors...give her the axe.

you ran the clearex...to unleach salts & nutes...
if your ash is white, or light grey, you flushed her right....

If your paranoid about light affecting your thc...use a green light (t5) to trim your fan leaf.
Setup your air flow...hack her down & hang the bitch
