Fly with mmj or w/o it?

You're legit mmj holder in a legal state gonna fly. Can't be in secret, stashed, but neither does it have to be displayed. Fly with it or without it?

I've read recent instances where in Cali and Montana folks do it.

You might have hit a rub I didn't see. That sounds like a federal law, state lines. Say I fly from a legal state, oh let's say Alaska, to a legal state, Cali. And that's the crux of this. Not breaking state laws.

I heard of people doin it, but not legally. From what I understand you can't even go from legal state to legal state.

Technically, according to my understanding of Federal Inter-State transportation law, you are correct. If one is going from say, California to Arizona, the STATE police are not necessarily going to have a beef with you. The Feds would and that's not to say there aren't some state cops that don't like MMJ and would drop the dime.

Call me sceptical, but I dunno about this. Maybe lucky, with illinformed tsa or something. But I kinda wanna call bullshit on flying with a plant. It theoretically could be done, but I don't think it's legal under any circumstance. In WA when you get your card they are sure to tell you not to transport over state lines. The laws in each state are for within that state, and it's always stipulated that transport over state line is illegal.* I'm pretty sure. I'm no lawyer.

Oh I'm very skeptical! I need to be somewhere on time and will have family with me. Wrong circumstances/timing to test the water. Have read AK,s statutes a couple times pretty well. Really can't recall any mention of crossing state lines. I definately think its federal and if its also state like Washington, I didn't know that.

What I'm trying to say is I DO recall some mention of it being illegal to transport over state line. Specifically. Take my advice or not...

There is no state anything when you fly. It's all federal. When you set foot on an INTERNATIONAL airport, you fall under federal jurisdiction period.

I'm gonna miss this place for a little while. Going outside for fun. Got the girl cared for. Will be able to read some off my phone but the mobile is quite diminished compared to this desktop.

Well, fuck it. Decided to exercise civil disability. Had mmj in my pocket, card in my wallet. Opted out of scanner, was gonna get searched, until I asserted I was travelling with a 12 year old and she was thru security. They said hell yeah, go thru the x-ray, have a good flight. So I risked and gained. Maybe not my wisest choice but my desire to assert myself outweighed the fear of consequences.

What do you think would have happened to the 12 year old if you had been searched and arrested?

Was it really worth the risk?

LEO would call her Mom and older sibling while I got violated for having a plant in my pocket. I just had to get some skin in the game. Feel good about it too.
