So I've got a little bagseed grow that I've been taking care of for a while. She's been healthy on and off, it's my first grow, I'm getting the hang of watering. Today when I went to adjust my lights, I pulled the pot out and noticed that in the drainage hole in the bottom of the pot, the roots were sticking out.
The pot is a little 8" 1 Gallon terracotta pot. When I planted the seedling I used a little starter, uh, plug, of compressed soil, you know, for seedlings, and once it sprouted I put that into the larger pot. Well, I didn't top off the soil to the brim of the pot when I planted the starter cup so my plant has always sat a little low in the pot. Should I pull the plant out, refill the pot with soil to the correct level? Should I move to a larger pot? I am planning on switching to 12/12 in about a week.
EDIT: My avatar is the plant just after it sprouted. If you search through some of my posts you can get an idea of the size of plant I'm working with - it's pretty stout and bushy. The leaves reek of skunk when you touch them.
Any help is appreciated. TY
