Thanks for your irrelevant opinions Buckwheat
why am i not surprised that desert rat chose a prominent black community leader to use in his example?

i mean, he could have used anyone of any race or standing, but he chose a prominent black person.

gee, it's probably just coincidence, isn't it now?

He chose one that happend to use racist statements. I understand you are doing your best to overlook that point but most other posters understood it quite clearly.

You can lead a buck to water but you cant make him think...

Jesse is Irrelevant. His biggest acheivement in the last decade was a fake appearance on South Park.

He's a sad old man that should take his pills n stfu.

Political Correctness has gone mad.

Irrelevant by any measure... Even the Occupiers didn't want him. He's got some interesting views on Obama though...

And I quote "See, Barack's been talking down to black people ... I want to cut his nuts off."

Buck, if I may ask, what's your highest level of education?

Buck, you seem to think you are the king of trolls. Lately you have been a laughing stock. You need to step up your game a bit. The racist accusation can be effective but, like anything, it gets stale if over used, especially when the reader cannot connect the dots against the accused.

Have you added any substantive input to any discussion lately? Seriously, dude, some introspection is in order.

He later apologized for the remark. Sort of like Jesse Jackson's "hymie town" remark. Much ado about nothing.
He supposedly "apologized" when he found out he was being considered for this position. A couple of weeks ago. He has never said a peep about it before now. Plus, he never apologized to Hormel. Hormel found out about the apology the way the rest of us did. In the media.

In an interview this afternoon, the target of the 1998 slur, leading gay philanthropist James Hormel, told me he never received an apology from Hagel himself, questioned the sincerity of the apology, and said the incident should still raise questions about whether Hagel is the right man to oversee the repeal of don’t ask don’t tell.
“I have not received an apology,” Hormel, who is a major figure in Democratic politics, told me. “I thought this so-called apology, which I haven’t received, but which was made public, had the air of being a defensive move on his part.” Hormel added that the apology appeared to have been given “only in service of his attempt to get the nomination."

Your, "he later apologized" is a bit misleading. He only "apologized" when it became politically expedient.

DADT has already been repealed. Apparently, Hormel is a moron as well as being gay.

it's not like flipping a light switch, it's a transition. there will be many cases to deal with that have not yet been resolved.

but way to combine an opportunity at showcasing your ignorance along with the opportunity to denigrate a homosexual. totally expected coming from you.

"The president knows there is a fight ahead, but he's willing to wage it in part because he believes now is the time for a secretary of defense who knows what combat is like up close and what the wounded experience when the war is over. Not only did Hagel volunteer for combat duty in Vietnam, he was awarded two Purple Hearts."

Hagel served as an enlisted man, not an officer. Sounds to me like the right guy for the job of Sec of Defense. Certainly much better than the last handful I can think of: Cheney, Rumsfeld, Panetta...
