folks...i'd like to give my .02 over here on my damn thread
indoors, here's about all i know -
i have a cabinet that's 25" x 20"x 25" (length x height x depth)
i have 5 (soon 7) cfls set up in there, 2 are 6500k, 36w, 2500 lm and the remaining 4 are
warm cfls, 28w, 1800 lm
i have 1 120mm cooler master fan drawing air from outside the cabinet (44.73 cfm) and
1 of the same for drawing air out as well as 4 pc fans for air circulation inside
not sure how my temperatures inside are exactly, but they're around the same as
my room temperature and it's been working, so no complaints.
for all outdoor growers who need a week or two for veg, i advise cfl over mh because
seedlings generally can't take the full brunt of an mh unless placed at a decent distance,
same goes for hps, and at that distance, it's no more efficient than a cfl, except the initial
cost is more. after a lot of searching, i did, however, find a shop that sells 50w, 75w, and
100w cfls, so for my next grow that starts in around april/may i'll probably buy 2 of the 75w
cfls so that i can keep the room a bit cooler and reduce the number of wires i have running.
for soil, you do NOT need an international brand. look around, we're a developing country.
everybody into agriculture uses organics 99% of the time because it's cheaper and easily
available. granted, organics for most farmers means cow/horse/sheep manure and a bit
of the bone/hoof/horn/anything-left-on-the-cow meal that comes from slaughterhouses in
kerala. you do get more than these though, and i've found a fairly good quality mix which
includes coco peat, perlite, neem cake, pongamia cake, castor cake, cottonseed meal,
bone meal, seaweed powder, vermicompost and biofarm (a commercial mix of composted wood-ash
and, primarily, manure). if you're willing to get your hands dirty you can get your manure
the good old way, but frankly this works easier for me (biofarm) than piling up shit
at my place to compost it. the ratio isn't too hard. a handful of each of the cakes/meals
per plant, APART from bone meal. bone meal here is VERY VERY nutritious but VERY
hot and strong, just about 1-2 tablespoons per plant should do it, more can be added
if necessary as top dressing. i also use rockphosphate but i figure i won't see the benefits
of it for a year or so by which time i'll be gone and the soil will be used to grow some
ridiculously beautiful orchids and berries then in my mom's garden
i skimped on the mycorrhiza because they fucking grow on the roots anyways, i think
things like mycorrhiza and trichoderma are ridiculous scams, they start
growing anyways!
if you're a chemical kind of person, check out gardenguru, it's an indian site that
provides hydroponic nutrients on demand, you have to order from their website,
i've just started trying it on some plants, too early to say anything.
well that was a bit more than .02 worth, probably more like a quarter, but w/e
man fuckkk that shit get bombedddd
my indian plant sowed in october is probably ~12 weeks into flowering i'm guessing
another month or so to go looking really nice, smelling very strong when ruffled,
no scent otherwise, but the minute you touch it or put your face near the buds
you'll get it. it hits. lol
