Iam also finding that og kush is a lower yielding plant then others I've ran. Smaller buds too.
What has been your experience with that. Like do u get huge colas or a lot of like golf ball sized nugs?

YES! My last grow with this strain I did 8 plants and got 8 ounces total.
What the kicker is though, I had to go to Vegas the week they were harvested of course because my girlfriend was selected to be on pawn stars so we had to go film.
Left my garden in the care of a novice family member and 4 ounces got mold on it:/
So I only had a QP.
I took clones about 7 inches in length, rooted them, put em in soil, and immediately flowered them.
Got an ounce per plant and it was my first time doing it that way.
The plants had a decent sized main cola my smallest coming out to weigh 4.5 grams and my biggest 6.2 grams.
The nugs that grew from lower branches and directly next to the stalk were all golf ball type nugs.
Let me tell you though, they were dense and hard as a rock.

I only get golf ball nugs indoor with og (larry,diablo,bubba,pre98 bubba,oaksterdam) but platinum og grew some fat corn cobb looking monsters indoors. Oaksterdam og is the best performer for outdoor I have found so far. grew some last summer and they were like arm size colas. I have pics if you don't mind me dumping outdoor pics on your thread?

edit: Good and tasty smoke, the trics were all goofy because of the weather and I went too far (10 weeks) it made the buds fluffy.

They smoke and watch out for me. I am moving so that was the last one. 40 acres in the boonies this summer

They look nice and frosty.
The OGs that im working with look very similar to the last pic.
More purple though



All the rest of the seeds sprouted out of the rockwool.
Ill post pictures in a bit.
If I bust my ass enough today maybe ill have pictures of the setup and room as well.

Definitely gotta mix a little bit of soil up today because some of the seedlings have already shown roots.

Yes tea is always helpful, but mixing with synthetics you are not getting the full effect. Try foliar feeding with teas too your plants will love you for it.


This is a soil and tea recipe Iv been using for a while now with great success.

Iv been getting quite a few pms from different people asking me a few things here and there.
For any organic beginner or experienced grower... This is where its at, nice and simple and very effective.


For anyone wanting to try some simple tried and true supersoil.... This is for you, it has grown some of my finest plants... If you do this in conjunction with a few guano kelp teas here and there you will never turn back.
Its called vicks supersoil. I believe Genuity has given this recipe a go with good results.
I added prices.
1 Bale sunshine mix #2 or promix (3.8 cu ft)~~~~~~~~~~~$36
8 cups Bone Meal - phosphorus source~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~$8
4 cups Blood Meal - nitrogen source ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~$18 for 8lb bag, you only use half... leftovers!
1 1/3 cups Epsom salts - magnesium source~~~~~~~~~~~~$3
3-4 cups dolomite lime -calcium source & pH buffering~~~~~$10
4 cups kelp meal.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~$8
9kg (25 lbs) bag pure worm castings~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~$20 for 30lb add all 30lbs

- Mix thoroughly, moisten, and let sit 1-2 weeks before use.


Thats $103 for about 5 cubic feet of kick ass soil. This should last you a long time and you can re amend and reuse and it only gets better with time,,, so start soon and there are leftovers! I add some azomite but thats optional, 2 cups I guess. I also added 2tbl humic acid concentrate to the water wetting it down, also optional.

The tea is optional, but highly suggested even if its only a few times. Use the tea about once a week in flower if the plants need it. Heavy feeders will get more tea.
The ingredients will last you several grows.

Veg mix-1/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano (PSG)
1/3 cup High N Bat Guano (Mexican)
1/3 cup Earth Worm Castings (EWC)
5 tsp. Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract
(That makes the "dry mix". You can make all you want and save it to use later.)
Mix with water @ 1 cup of dry mix into 5 gallons of water to make the tea.
To that 5 gallons of tea add:
5 tbs. Liquid Karma
5 tbs. Black Strap Molasses


Flowering nute tea mix:
2/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano
2/3 cup Earth Worm Castings
2/3 cup High P Guano (Indonesian or Jamaican)

Although, I am not 100% organic.

It costs me 30 dollars for my nutrients and that lasts me at least 2 cycles.

For 8 plants in 5 gallon pots it took a little over 2 bags of FFOF forest soil at 14$ a piece.
so thats 35 bucks in soil for a bag and a half.
it takes .4 cubic feet for 1 3 gallon pot which is what i will be using this grow.
So your mix can produce 12 or so pots.
It would cost me 14 extra dollars to produce 12 pots.

which would bring my total $49 for soil.
plus $30 for all the nutrients for TWO cycles.

So for one cycle it costs me $64 in food/soil
plus a little extra to throw some perlite and lime into it.

That is the only reason i havent gone completely organic.
Havent found a way to be just as or more efficient then i am right now.

I am not too familiar with all the prices for all the ingredients to make your super soil or if it actually is more cost effective because you could buy big bags and make more then 5 cubic feet of soil.

Though, you said that it costs you $104 for five cubic feet plus tea ingredients.
I got my soil rich and ready with nutes for lets say $70 bucks
Not bad huh?

I have! The airbasket thing has me a little intrigued. Im not convinced about fimming yet, i havent read much about it, and im not entirely sure you can do it with clones.
I dont really trust a technique called Fuck I missed right off the bat

Its not a pot right? Its a sponge with an air hose led to it releasing air into the soil?
I wasnt able to see the pictures so im taking a guess

The air hose pumps air into the sponge and the sponge is just there to disipate the air out into the soil. Works great and pumps fresh air and O2 right to your roots. Natmoon did recommend using some of those water absorbing crystals in the soil, but they were like 10 bucks I think at lowes so not a biggy. This helps balance the moisture level in the soil so it drys evenly, and stays moist evenly. I put mine about 3 inchs up from the bottom oof the pots, on a layer of soil with extra perlite for bottom drainage.

As far as fimming goes you don't have to do that its just another technique. All it is, is a topping technique I've never had it actually work and produce multiple branches. So I usually just top if I'm gonna top. You can fim any type of plant clone or seedling doesn't matter, like I said its just like topping.

Theres pics of it all in my journal, not sure exactly where in it though.

Well Id rather drink a nice glass of bordeaux over a glass of yellow tail. There is a difference in quality and that might cost you a little more

Yes, I always fim my og clones. The only info I followed was the one in the medical bible. When I first started farming I must of read that book 40 times. I don't know how to do all that cut and what ever stuff on the computer sorry, so I just snapped this.
