Just got my temp controller, will hook it up tomorrow when lights come on. Also I gave them water with nutes.. Things seem ok so far. Wish I still had the scrog going, it would have been so much better.

Alright guys they are about half way done with flowering!! Finally got my temp controller and I read about Final Phase and got that too, will be using just plain water with final phase for the last 2 weeks. Also I been reading and noticed a lot of people talking about keeping the lights off for the last 2 weeks?? Should I or Should I not or does it even matter???

Im definitely subbed for this!

2 weeks of flushing is plenty of time..

and 2 days right before harvest is the most I would leave them ladies in the dark.

you're well on your way. good job!

Hey

Quick question just been reading through this, Did you transplant your plants from 1 pot in the starting phase to a larger pot after roots had grown?
or have you just kept the plants in the same pots throughout

Thank you

Kept them in the same 5 gallon pot throughout the whole grow. I never really thought transplanting was important.

After cutting mine down and looking at roots. The bottom of soil was moldy or bud rot. On both plants. The reason for this was, no air getting to bottom to dry up the water. My first 2 grows I had wire fencing under it and everything went fine and roots looked great after harvest. This time I just used a couple of 2x2 about 8" long, thought I moved them around enough so they wasn't always in the same spot. It didn't work. If I was you I would transplant or get something under them so air flow can get to the bottom of pot. Transplant might delay growth for about a week, but if your roots are moldy now, your in for a beating.

When ya think about it, just common sense if no air gets to the bottom, water will not dry up. I will still stick to my watering routine, because the first 2 grows were great. I will just have to put the fencing material on the bottom from now on. The bottom I made was just a peice of plywood, whatever size you think your plants will fit on. i used a 4x4' peice of plywood to cover bottom of box then cut plastic to cover entire peice of plywood Then run 1x2 or 2x2 about 6" apart all the way across plywood, then attach 1/4" square fencing or chicken wire. The 1/4' is stronger, so I used it instead of chicken wire. Attach to the 2x2's. That should leave you about 2" of space from the fencing to the plywood. sit plant on top, water will hit plastic and drain. I have a 2x4 just laying on one end of box for a slant. Excess water drains to the front, where I keep a towel to soak it up.

Might be able to look at roots and just put back in same pot. Read some on transplanting before you do anything. There is a good way to hold the plant when turned upside down, you tube will show alot. Get them up off them pans though, my earlier post saud to use 2x2 to keep off the floor. Didn't work, using fencing did. If you do decide just to look at the roots. Read about how they are suppose to look. I remember reading something about root lock or nuet lock. Something about if pot was to small for the plant, the roots will look a certain way. That way when you check your roots out, you will be able to tell if it should be transplanted.
Ton of work, but I would transplant right away and put something under them for air flow. Might delay growth a few days, but 5 gal pots might have problems. Might have difference in quanity too. I used these potato sacks, not sure on gal. size I figure around 20. Both grows avg. about 3 to 3 1/2 oz. off each plant dry. On these last 2 I got 67 grams on one and 75 off the other. I also threw away the bottom potion of both. It was where the majority of visible mold was and I'm getting spoiled, I thought it was to much work for about a half oz. of popcorn buds that were prone to get mold. The rest of the plant in cure now and no sign of mold. Haven't smoked any yet, It's a clone of what I'm already smoking. Should be just as good,,,lol GL

Make sure you follow through on posting results, curious to see if I can get away with a smaller pot. Fox farm is expensive, when you use almost a bag per plant.

Thought I would add this since I have had trouble with all 3 of my grows. Check leaves on plant about every 2 or 3 days for mites or mold. If you find it right away, it's easy to control.

WEEK 5 DAY 2 FLOWER
I feel like my yield wont be that much, the nugs look soooo small to me for some reason, them being lil over 5 weeks old. Plus I watered them today and when I came back home and checked them over, one of the plant has yellowing leaves. I noticed little bit of hair on the bud are turned orange brownish. I think it could be nute burn but then it couldn't be because its the same amount that i have been giving.

Looks like nuet burn, maybe skip next feeding and or lower amount givin to them.
I will say this though, you have a ton of work ahead of you,,,lol. I'm thinking 4hrs per plant trimming.

How close is your 600 watt? What is size of room? How large are the pots?

Looking at your thread from the beginning it looks like you had over-watering issues early on and low humidity issues throughout. Those obviously had a negative effect, to what degree I don't know. Use 18/6 lighting next time. I love your commitment to scrog, I just don't have the patience or time. lol Oh no, you ruined your screen. Sad. Pruning in flower is a no-no. Prune early on and slow, in fem seeds it can trigger hermies on some strains.

With the soil and nutes you are using, I use the entire FF line, you really only need to flush at 12/12 switch and final. As long as when you water/fed you are getting 10% or more runoff no need to flush more then 12/12 switch and final.

As for transplanting I find it helps with yields but I really haven't done a strain comparison so who knows. I have a buddy who starts and ends in same pot but he always over-waters early on.

NO TO LIGHTS OFF. It's actually lights off for 48-72 hours right before harvest, but it's just a myth that it helps with bud production or resin build-up, only day/light can do this.

Question for you. Did you use the full fox farm nute line-up? If so did it include Kangaroots/Microbe and the three solubles Open Sesame/Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching?

Even though I think he is a world class jackass, like UncleBuck I will be five starring this thread because it is a seed to harvest thread and most don't take the time to do this. I will be doing one soon.

yeah thats the plan, skip the next feeding and then go low. I wonder why it reacted like that because i been giving them the exact amount the whole time...hmm

Im using big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom.

I'm just using the first line of Fox Farm. Sure would like to hear more on the second line, Sesame, beastie and cha ching.

The cost is what hurts, if you buy both lines of products at the same time could run close to $200. So I bought the ones I seen others using the most. big grow ,big bloom, and tiger. I also use cal-mag and thrive throughout grow. Add molasses the last 3 weeks. Might drop the molasses. I used it on one grow and didn't on the other and could tell no difference.

Reading your post here that I quoted you say the hairs are turning orange/brown pm some other growers who have more experience then me and check but I believe that is a sign of the buds maturing and getting closer to harvest. And the yellowing leaves are the buds stealing nutes from them, again check with a more experienced grower.

Dip, the first 3 pics show nute burn, as i believe you figured out. You dont really need to flush unless the problem gets out of hand. Just skip a few nutrient-waterings. Also the hairs turning brown is a sign of the buds maturing. This will continue to happen through your harvest. The yellowing of the lower leaves is also natural. The pant is simply making the flowers a priority and allowing the older fan leaves which are unnecessary yellow and fall off.
As for transplanting, only do that while still in vegetative stage unless an absolute emergency occurs. Like if your nute burn the plants so hard the soil becomes toxic and must be removed to save the plant. You dont want to transplant a healthy plant in flower because any positive effect you may get is outweighed by the fact that the plant will be sent into shock at a crucial period in its life which could possibly cause it to hermie or worse.
It sounds like you got the overwatering problem more under control. You said you only water when they start to droop, this is good and can be made better by making a mental not of how long it takes the plant to start drooping and water it the morning/night before so in that way it suffers no stress ad always has an adequate supply of water.
Dont worry about your buds looking too small. The key to this is PATIENCE. You have a decent feeding schedule in play and a good light source. This will equal a good yield if you stick it out and dont harvest too early. Youre only 5 weeks 2 days into flower. It is still quite early in the game. You may feel pressure to harvest at 8 weeks on the dime but trust me it will probably pay off to go an extra week. I am a firm believer in letting the plant tell you when it is ready and not taking the breeders suggestion as the final word.
I read through this entire thread and noticed you had some simple problems and questions early on that i would have been more than happy to help with. Sorry i made it to the party a bit late, but ill be sticking around from here on to give my helpful advice.
I'm subbed.
Youre doing great.
Peace

Will defiantly be needing you in the future and now

Yes cost can hurt but those three solubles will last you a very long time and they have no real expiration date. As for kangaroots and Microbe the verdict is not back yet for me because I have only used them once before and on my current grow.
Big bloom goes fast. You can basically use it throughout entire grow at full or over strengths, very weak bloom but works well with solubles. Tiger is very powerful and can set you back if you use it too strong even once. I tend to fed tiger at 40% strength throughout weeks 2-5 flower every other or third fed and rely more on big bloom and the three solubles for bloom boosts.
Big grow has lasted me forever. Being I start my final pots with almost 90% FFOF or Roots Organic, both have nutes that last 2-3 weeks or more, I rarely even need grow, use it more in early flower then all of veg.
Calmag is needed, usually late veg to mid-flower at normal strengths. Epsom salt at least twice during grow to as calmag doesn't provide quite enough mag.
What molasses? Molasses is a must IMO. I use Earth Juice Hi-Brix from early bud formations to a week before harvest. Does wonders to weight and resin.
The main three Fox Farm nutes are good and work for an entire grow but the three solubles have made a big difference in yields for me. I also use humic acid at low doses and A MUST is root enhancers early on. I use great white but there are many.

Great looking grow you basicly in the final count down, I'm doing 4 in a 3x3 tent because 5 got too crowded, have you thought of doing like 4 hydro buckets dwc or like 9 soil plants basicly like you did but with 3 gallon pots and only like a 1.5 or 2 week veg time.

Sounds like a good idea with only 1 or 2 weeks veg time. Wonder what yeild is?
I'm finishing up my last plant, for awhile anyway. Had 5 sour 60 auto's, I was lifting dome when they were seedlings and dropped it. Somehow it chopped of 3 of them off right under the first and only set of leaves,,,lol. Tried growing just the stem to see if it just grew new leaves,, no luck. So that left me with 2 plants about week 4 I noticed one was a male. Had to exterminate it,,,lol

Here is the last one, flower box was full untill 3 weeks ago, so this sat under 2 T5 lights for about 7 weeks. This pic is about 9 or 10 weeks. Will be harvested in a few days. 10% amber now
