Let it get some more veg growth before you fim/top, people will debate, but an old pot head told me wait until 5th or 6th set of nodes

Quite small for 3-4 weeks looks like some heat stress on the lower set of leaves is she only being fed on kelp extract if so you need to step your nutrient game up also and go with a simple fertilizer line. Also what she being grown in pot size and medium?

ok and when should i switch from veg to flowering.. and for my first grow i was thinking of just using that kelp stuff just for my first grow... i got ancy and i fucking super cropped it already... (as in pinched the main stem, and crushed it alittle so it can repair and get stronger, i was pretty suprised how strong the stem already is when i super cropped it. but yea ill wait to fim/top it, but how many more weeks you think until i switch to 12/12 and im looking on the stem and i see 2 pistil like things on each intersection where the nodes seperate... is this female???

EDIT> might look small because i burried it basically all the way up to its first set of true leaves. and heat stress??? why arent the higher leaves showing heat stress then..

a little small for a month on 18/6 average size for 3 weeks on 18/6.

i wouldnt top the plant..i would just let it do its thing this time around.

a sodium bulb is used for flower..that could be your issue. usually the bottem veg dies off like that if theres something wrong with the roots. the roots could be too wet.

Actually higher leaves are showing heat stress look at the fringes folding to dissipate heat, raise lights or get a extraction fan if you don't already have one. You can Top/FIM already if chose to no harm in it new branches will already form from the internodes. The ratio of nutrients in the kelp extract are too low to be fed as a main nutrient and better off used as a tea with guanos and casting if your trying to go organic, if not just go to a local grow store and buy a simple chemical liquid fertilizer General Hydroponics,Fox Farms,Canna etc... There is also bottled organic fertilizers you can use.

You can switch to flower at anytime,, longer veg, better harvest, I believe thats correct,, anyone correct me if im wrong,,, I know some people go 12/12 from seed, 2 weeks veg, 3 weeks veg and so on,, alll depends on strain I believe, and how big you want your plant

Wrong wrong wrong....HPS works just fine for veg and bottom leaves dying is not that either. Do you understand that your wasting time i could potentially be helping someone with a problem right now. You are spewing crap from one end of RIU to the other. Stop posting, go back to grass city. We dont like you.

They look good to me. What's ur ppm and ph at? I find they don't start getting bigger till like 4th week. That's also when I start really feeding them. First few weeks I stay around 150 ppm. Then I jump to 300-500 in 4th week or so. Sometimes a little sooner it just depends on the strain I guess really. Also if ur lights are super close they don't stretch as much. The first set of leaves I take off by now. They usually look all crunchy like urs do lol. Just get them out of there and u look ok IMO. Take pics with the hps off to be able to tell what they really look like. And maybe then if anything is wrong we'll be able to better see it and help.

EDIT: and wtf u growing in??? I see the hydrotone rocks but what's under it???
EDIT, EDIT: you can use hps from the minute u root. I've tried hps for clones and cuttings but better off with fluro's till they root. Once they root hps is more then good from start to finish. Anyone who disagrees is an idiot and needs to find something else to do with their time. GLG bro!

hps is not ideal for veg, hps bulb is rated at ~2000 kelvin, which last time i checked was for blossom. i didnt say it couldnt be done, I SAID IT WASNT IDEAL. im going to have be VERY specific and sound even more arrogant becuase of the pricks that attack me.

also, when my plant had root rot, it would slowly use up the bottem veg, and then work its way up the plant, using the veg leaves as energy, since the roots werent working.

not sure which direction youre attacking from? is it the crackhead position?
