How did those sour 60s come out I'm going to do one more outdoor auto grow before I do my final outdoor plot, are they really
done a little after 60 days? It just seems really quick. I saw a thread for 60 day wonder he chopped at 74 days and it looked real nic so I'm assuming it is ready around then what was your yield on each of them like on average? Also under what kind of light?

I had to use a T5 light for 7 weeks, because flower light was being used. It is now under a 600 hps. I'm thinking small yeild because having to use the T5 lights for most of grow. Looking at prob. an oz. Off this one plant, time period was about 75 to 80 days.

Best bet in my opinion is to just grow the reg sized plants and do it with female seeds. I avg. about 4 oz.+ off reg. size plant. and it only takes about 4 to 5 weeks longer. Being female takes away the chance of pollinating the rest of your crop, if your a newb like me, this is one less worry.
Here is the sour 60 trimmed up a bit

How your babys doing Dip? No problems yet? Your doing better than me, I had mites at 5 weeks in flower, or maybe that was second grow??? Good shit anyhow.

Nice yea usually I do regular photoperiod plants it's just I like to get some extra outdoor in so I use the autos cause they will flower even when the light is longer then 12/12 you know.

Great looking grow you basicly in the final count down, I'm doing 4 in a 3x3 tent because 5 got too crowded, have you thought of doing like 4 hydro buckets dwc or like 9 soil plants basicly like you did but with 3 gallon pots and only like a 1.5 or 2 week veg time.
Been thinking about I had 10 seeds total and only used 4 for this grow and gave one to my friend who fucking couldnt even germinate it right so im left with 5 and then i have like 4 or 5 other seeds which I'm not sure what they are...
I will def be trying to grow 5 and 2 other seeds and veg for 2 weeks. I wonder if short veg period affect the yield?

WEEK 6 DAY 4 FLOWER
gave them nutes today, watering before this one was just water with ph of 6.5ish
things are looking ok no big issues that i see, smell is great! i love touching the bud a little and them smelling the fingers, makes me wanna start smoking them right NOW! but yes i know its worth the wait lol
I'm surprised how easy this grow was for me, being its the first grow. I wonder what I can achieve if I knew what i know now but that will come handy in the next grow, CANT WAIT!!!

That is cool. Made me smile, looks like 3 weeks or so and you have a 1/2 pd to a pd of killer shit. Less veg. time definatly effects the yeild imo

Try to harvest one at a time, and look at 3 to 4 hrs trimming each one. Also start reading about when to harvest. From what I read, it all about how you want your buzz, Cloudy tric's is more a head buzz than body, I harvested mine at different times, mostly cloudy 10 to 20% amber, all cloudy no amber. To be honest I didn't notice much of a difference. All killer weed.

Looking good bro! Looking forward to see them finish up. I don't know about you, but I was on a natural high the last few weeks of my first grow, just couldn't beleive I smoked dirt weed all these yrs, and I could have done this. Fucking amazing!!!! Your on cloud nine for several weeks after,,,,lol. Just don't fuck it up and pull early. I'll be watching,,,lol

Update: Got a 1/2 oz off that Sour 60 auto. Buds were real fluffy/airy. Will be going back to reg. fem seeds.

I just said that because of the time it takes, all 4 harvested in one day is 12 to 16+ hrs of trimming.
I did 2 at once and after about 7 hrs. I said fugg this. I left about an hour of work for the next day. I will be buying one of them spinners soon, Trim a whole plant in 10 or 15 min.

Im planning on flowering for 9 weeks but i dunno what i really should do...

Some with more exp. might differ from my opinion. but I say get a 40x jewlers eye or something similar, Would hate to pull to early or late. Most will also say 40% amber tricombs. I have pulled mine with all cloudy, 10% amber, and 20% and have yet to see a difference. All weed was good to excellent. Since you have 4 of the same strand. Pull one at different stages and see if you notice a difference. I also noticed on mine they can do 5%+ amber in 1 night. So I'm thinking peak harvest only has about a 5 day window, somewhere between the 8th and 10th week. Would need to see the tricombs to catch that window.

You don't want any clear tricombs. A magnifier is best in my opinion. Some will also say you can tell by looking at it, similar to a fruit being ripe or not. That didn't work with me though, on 1st grow mine looked good from 4th week on,,,,lol

ight guys today is Week 8, going onto week 9.
Last night i took a lil bud off and trimmed it so see how it smokes for being 8 and then ill try the week 9 when its done. But for some reason the smell isnt really there, maybe its just me but for some reason it smell a very little like fresh cut grass, if you know what i mean?

That "cut-grass" smell comes from the chlorophyll in the bud. After trimming the chlorophyll becomes trapped in the buds and must go through a process to be released. The process is called curing. You probably have heard of it. After drying, your buds must be cured or it will keep that cut-grass smell and taste.
It takes longer for the chlorophyll to leave the plant than it takes the moisture so it's a tad more complicated than simply drying the buds til theyre ready to smoke.
For a very good cure you want to hang the buds to dry until the outside of the bud feels dry to the touch but BEFORE the stems snap cleanly in too. The stems should bend and crack but not snap in two. Then move the buds into jars with the lids closed. This closed environment allows the moisture that is still trapped inside the buds to moves to the outer edges. Every day or so open the jar for a few hours. (alot of people judge the right ammount of time differently but lets say 8-12 hours open. This allows that excess moisture to escape. Then close the lid and repeat the process until the buds have about 10-15% moisture. Without a hygrometer you just have to go by smell and feel. You know what awesome buds look/fell/smell/taste like so you can be your own judge. Only through this slow curing process will your buds release the chlorophyll and begin to smell and taste the way they should. Skipping steps will simply result in inferior product. You can still smoke your buds during the curing process but you will reward yourself greatly the longer you can wait.

I recommend you check out the harvesting and curing section on this forum and study that shit diligently.

Oh, by the way, since youre unsure if your buds are ready to harvest yet can you get a few more close-ups of the top colas on each plant for us to help you?
The picture from your last post looks awesome but not quite ready yet.
Good luck,
RDG

Hey, thanks for that post! helped clear few things. I have been reading the harvest n cure section and noticed people talking about using paper bags or newspaper to get rid of that grassy green smell/chlorophyll. You think it's worth it? And how exactly should i go by that? First hang dry them until the stems snap and then the put it in the brown bags for few days and then cure in the jar. Clear this up for me buddy and I'll be taking the picture of main colas right now and update this post.

EDIT

That pic looks rather close to finshing, but personally it would be at least a week for me, maybe two. I've used the brown paper bag method before, it works well but I never noticed a difference in smell or taste with them. Just seems to give a more even dry. If thats the route you'd like to take don't dry them til they snap cleanly, dry them until the buds are dry on the outside but the stems bend and crack but DONT fully snap like a bud you'd buy from your dealer would. I say that because they will continue to dry within the brown bags.
If you get enough buds off this harvest which i think you will try a few different ways and figure what you like the best.
I'llbe checking back. Peace.

Bout a week to 10 days left. I say trim up, dry slowly (60 degree temp) leave in dark. Then jar it. You have to babysit when you put into a jar, make sure they don't get moldy. If they seem a little wet after putting in jars, instead of popping lid to release moisture, dump them out for a while. Better to have weed to dry, instead of mold. Here is some shit I have still left off second grow. Seems a little to dry, but taste and buzz is killer it was cured for about 2 mo.

I noticed your leave are turning up on the edges, mine did that too and I had no idea what the problem was.

Ok my microscope is horrible, just straight up shitty. Gotta jam the thing into the bud to really focus well and then its a bitch holding it still...Its CARSON MM-200
How can i still work with this??

I bought 3 before I realized they were all the same. Just keep working with it. Or say the hell with it and start harvest in a few days.

When you start trimming, keep in mind the leaf part will shrink up. I trimmed my first one real close to the bud, then read some more and don't trim as close anymore. The leaves are cover with thc and it doesn't bother the taste. I have an old pic I can throw up to give you an idea. Just use the thought if you cut into the bud at anytime during trim, your too close. I have trimmed 5 or 6 since the first one and haven't cut into bud on any. The leaf if left to big, will eventually fall off or crumble. So you end up with a quarter of shake at the end of smoking. Thats where the bubble hash comes in, just break up a couple a grams per quarter of shake and you have killer weed,,,,lol don't throw away trimmings, except big leaves. There is a ton of thing you can use them for.
