Hey all trying out starting a grow log.
Ive got 4 Blue Widow, 1 Chemdawg, and 4 Mexican bagseed under 1200w Hps.
I have been treating a selected branch from one of the most vigorous BW for 3 weeks now, and they are in their 9th day of flower to date.
It looks like there really are some male flowers poppin up! I cant believe this Tiresias is working! Hopefully i will be able to cross my very own BluDawg strain which will be named in honor of my pitty buddy Bluedog. My wife and i also are going to cross the blue widow with this very large, very dark, and very elegant sativa of suspected mexican origins.

If anyone has a clever name for this Blue Widow X Mexican cross we'd really love to hear what you guys got.

Peace and love

**I copy and pasted this straight from the grow journals blog section, it took me a while to get the hang of the different parts of RIU. Sorry for the double read.**

OK...hows it goin guys? Today is Wednesday and we are in week 2, day 12 of flower! Unfortunately the girls are asleep so taking photos will have to wait til they wake from their beauty sleep.

As you may or may not know, i am currently working on a project to make my own feminized seeds, mainly tho i wanted to run this by you guys as my wife and i have still been pondering what a good name for the Mexican x Blue Widow . The four plants that are suspected to be Mexicans are from seed, and growing identical. This is why we think we have a Mexican landrace sativa; that and we're in AZ and my buddy got the seeds from a bag of regs i think. Anywho, we have been considering the name JUNGLE FEVER for this cross and we don't want to step on anybodys toes which is why we're asking you guys if anyone knows of an already existing strain by the same name. Ideas and comments are always welcome!

Lets hear some feedback people!
Much love

I would say it's safe to use, but whether or not you choose to is ultimately up to you.

As a passing thought, if you can isolate a red pheno.. you could call it "Crimson Shank".. which is what it should do, have you on the floor. :D

Glad you like the name, and it's a blade reference, but it definitely fits a phallic reference too.. especially during when mother nature visits. Hope that mention wasn't too traumatizing... hahaha

Well i made a promise to myself to really keep a complete catalog of this journey so although it isnt a huge update, i did do some work in the garden today. I had a fairly bad battle with spider mites not long ago so i have a new regime that i have added to the ladies diets. I mixed 2ml/liter of SNS209 with 7gallons of RO water. The ppm was around 250-350 and i PH'd it to 6.0. The ppms were low on this feed purposefully as week 2 feed(monday) was fairly high(1200-1300ppm). As im working in coco and im using a new feed schedule, they get a "hot" feed on monday with the lower, equalizing, pesticide wash of SNS on wed-thurs as the medium drys out. Temps are 77-80, RH 34%.

Heres a quick little pic of the girls at the prom.:leaf::leaf::leaf:
Enjoy!

Awesome choice for a systemic pesticide - from memory, the 209 should take 8-12 days before it's fully into the plant - as another tip, you may want to grab some sns217 in spray bottle, or a jug of it to put into your own bottles for foliar spraying.. that way if you get hit in between the 209 treatments .. you can go 217, then start 209 immediately to get it working through the plant to ensure there's not hellacious damage. I was not sure if you'd thought to do that or considered it, but figured I'd mention to try to help you control a potential disaster with an insanely quick response and multiple attacks w/the SNS :D

Alrighty, figured you may have but wanted to make sure that you can wipe `em out before SHTF and you wake up to a multi-hour/day fix. If you'd like to ensure that things that are 'natural' are truly natural, you could also make your own pure cinnamon oil very quickly, which would cut down on costs for pest prevention and allow you to upgrade/mod your operation too! Seems you're loaded with what I would recommend for a multi-pronged attack on the spotted mofos. Keep up the good work!

Ok it is Sunday...and the final day of week 2. The girls are right on track and starting to slow down the initial stretch that they go into after flip, and really starting to concentrate on flower production. I noticed just last night that the Chem and 2 of the Blues are starting to put out the peach fuzz trichs out on their sugar leaves!!:-P:-P

The Chem is really shaping up nicely, with great(tight) internode spacing. At approx 6" below the terminal buds, the spacing is between .75"-1.25"! I love the breeding potential of this girl. She is the clone of a mother that we adopted from a nearby failing newbie who didnt want his better girls to die. We flowered out the mother and were able to take late flower clones. The smoke was amazing but we didnt get to see her true personality until we grew her out, clone-harvest for ourselves. Im really excited that this specimen will make an outstanding contribution to my hopefully upcoming bludawg cross.

The mexicans have stretched another 9inches or so over the past week and are just now showing signs of entering flower. They are however 6 days behind the other girls. I reorganized their feed schedule so that this is the end of week 1 for them. Also i dont know if i mentioned it before but the Mexicans are planted in a 50%-50% FFOF-Coco mix with some added perlite, so they wont be getting full strength, full line AN like my other girls.

Now the good part. I know i have already claimed that the tiresias mist worked, but honestly i still had a little demon in the back of my head sayin, "its not really gonna work, the spray is gonna burn em, ball sacks wont have pollen..." Just all kind of irrational fears. Well today, my fears were mollified quite a bit. What do you guys think?? Balls or what?!

I supposed i wont know 100% until i paint the donor mother, but it certainly is hopeful isn't it? :weed:

Thanks for stickin with the long-winded update fellas..just smoked a few bowls of White Rhino with the old lady and when the mind gets to runnin..well I'm sure you know. Anyways here's a few more random week2 porn.
