What do you think is better, partly overcast sunlight or LED light? On sunny days, I move my plants outside; on cloudy days they stay under the light. Just trying to get some opinions on which would be more beneficial for my plants on these questionable days.

If memory serves me correct, the sun on a bright, sunny day, puts out about 2000 umoles. My light puts out 1750 umoles, all the time. I would say it's a toss up between LED and sunlight on cloudy days....

I guess I would have to get a light meter and check each time, lol. I was under the impression that the sunlight might have extra goodies in it that LEDs don't.

On cloudy days plants use their stored energy in the fan leaves. Same with 90 + degree weather.

No, not at all.

They're from Area-51 lighting. Jeff, one of the owners, spends a metric fuck-tonne of time coming up with this badassery. The lights I have are old and decrepit compared to the new lights, so I'm told.... I'm definitely going to buy a couple and compare them.

On another note, I kinda let the ladies get a bit thirsty... lol They were a bit droopy... heh, not too bad but they've looked happier. They seem to be drinking substantially more water at this stage. I gave them 8L each to make up for the abuse. I'm positive they will make a quick recovery.

Thanks man! I gave them straight water last night, 8L each to be exact. I was noticing the tips were burning a little bit, going to back off the nutes a little to about 1000ppm. They've been getting 1150-1200ppm since about week number 4 of veg...
