Alright I made it to page 13. I'm getting closer. I am in favor of the death penalty, but not as it stands now. I don't think we can start making judgments about verdicts with the idea in the back of our minds that we "just might be" offing an innocent person. That is the exception, it's not the rule. This is why we have the beyond a reasonable doubt part. If their crime was so heinous that a jury feels it merits the death penalty, for crying out loud, get it the hell over with. Don't have someone hanging out in a cell for 20+ years just wasting away waiting to die. THAT'S cruel. As for rehabilitation, well, that's a case-by-case basis. I mean, it's easy to say "I've learned my lesson, I've changed, etc. etc." It's completely different actually being in the situation.
