I feel no matter if you meet online or in real life, it takes a long time to know someone regardless. Everyone will work hard to show their best side in the beginning. I think there may even be somewhat of an advantage to getting to know someone inside a little before meeting them or seeing what they look like. I believe the chances of it working out are close to even either way. I know just as many stories about people having a bad experience after meeting someone in person as I do online. If you talk to a person long enough, you can see though people online because it's hard to hide who you are all the time. I totally think it's possible to meet and fall in love online and it be a wonderful thing...but I am a romantic at heart....and I do have crushes on almost all the guys and half the girls on here, so what do I know.

^^^^ I think you are right on many counts here. The real deal may be quite different from the online persona. I think you only really get to know someone when you live with them. I've known Indian couples in London that have been together for years before living as married.

I think I'm pretty true to who I am on here too. I think if someone is asking something from you very soon after meeting them online...I would suspect they were up to something. The only thing I really worry about on this site is ...the fuzz! I've met some people on here that I feel almost lost if they don't post for awhile. I would meet some of them in real life too and hope to one day.

Howdy Granny......Howdy everyone....I was on the road for a few days....back now. Granny....I do think its possible to develope feelings ETC....especially if you find that you have allot in common.....BUT....Myself being a grandpa....and a bit old school...I'd be careful with that one.....This is cyber world and there is all kinds of shit that goes on....some is legit....and a bunch of it is not!! My advice....proceed with caution. The last thing you need is to get hooked up with a case of BRAIN DAMAGE....ya know what I mean!!! At my age....I have learned to steer clear of that kind of crap.... Just giving you my thoughts from a reality perspective....if I recall correctly....you gave me some pretty good advice a while back!!! Bear

As for me ....as we start moving into spring and summer...I will get very busy as the days get longer and chances are that I will spend less and less time on RIU.....its just the way it is....winter slows everything down but once summer is here...I'm a busy bee......bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

YEP.....if something does not sound reasonable or make sense, there is probably a pretty reason for it. There are times where I will log on and read what the chatter is about...if I feel ok with it..I will jump in but if not.....I just let it be...
