How are you enjoying the experience?
It has truly been one of the most emotionally gratifying experiences I have ever participated in. I've jumped head first into this and I would really love nothing more than to learn more all day. I even have plans to get the family garden going this summer and getting the kids involved. I had kind of wanted to try to get a perpetual grow going but right now I have both tents filled to the gills, but once these autos are finished I'm going to start digging into the attitude birthday freebies and you will see me give a go at some good ol' fashioned cloning baby! Thanks for checkin back in.

Very cool. I'm waiting until the weather warms up a little to start my flower garden outside. Supplies supplies

I have literally moved the 200w SolarFlare up every other day and FA1 just keep on stretchin up towards it. Problem is that I have pretty much brought the light as high as I can and I have already seen just the smallest bit of bleaching. The 5W LEDs are doing what the Cali Lightworks ppl said they would and that's the reason I put my tallest lady (FA1) under it. Don't get me wrong now, the Area 51 lamps are no punks and the plants are just loving whatever they're doing too. I think I'm going to bring the last little lady in the bloom room tomorrow morning. I don't really want them to stretch too much so should I jump straight to bloom nutes or should I do the two weeks of grow nutes as I have been doing with the others? As I've said in my earlier posts, I am considering seeing how long I can leave them in the 4 or 5 liter square planters before they show any signs of slowing down or the beginning of getting root bound or whatever. Also, I have begun giving just plain water, or very light B1, in the days between feeding the last few days.

High phosphorous ferts aka bloom nutes will make the stretch worse........if you have height limitations then I would run a high N or balanced fert to maintain them. lst is necessary indoors or even super cropping but it will stress the girls.always bend before snap if you have that option.......good luck grower

Thanks I was wondering about that. Im running AN Connoisseur A+B but FA1 is just exploding while FA2 isn't jumping vertically. So should I maybe slip in some grow nutes once a week or something? Please excuse the ignorance on the subject.

I first noticed trichomes Tues and now everything looks like it frosted and I'm noticing actual bud forming and not just the hairs. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.

Do you see pre flowers on the plants you just flipped? I start my flowering countdown when I first see the flowers. It's all up to your preference. This is going to be the fun part of the experience. You will see it
FA1 & 2 have been showing pistols for about 5-6 days now. I've got the SolarFlare and Area 51 about 12-14" away I would say. You think I should get them closer? I've got another area 51 lamp on the way, the one with 8 lamps instead of the 4 like the A51-60, and I will be getting another little "veg tent" going here ASAP.. I can't wait
LOL what I thought were pistols were in fact those little things... ahh I'm drawing a blank on what they are called.. the little sturdy green things that both sexes have, usually right around where the white hairs do come.. Pistols ended up coming about the 21st of last month so I guess I'm just a little over 2 weeks in true flowering.. It makes sense cause I ran the grow nutes for about two weeks after the switch to 12/12 and once I added the AN Connoisseur I really noticed the hairs start to pop. The little ladies I let veg a little longer are all showing pre-flowers about a week into the switch. I know I've said it before but I'm really interested in seeing the difference in yield between bucket sizes. I hope everybody has a safe beginning of the weekend.

Looking good buddy, I would not be too bothered by stretching etc. as the learning curve is what it's all about. Some phenos will do what they want regardless of what you do to try and reign them in. Focus on your plants health and the rest will come eventually. Good to see another person loving home cultivation.

I think I'm running into some type of P def. A few purple leaf stems here and there. I know some of it can be natural but idk. I'll take some pics of the problem tomorrow but here are some pictures of my little piece of heaven.. I think I'm also running into a Calcium lockout possibly from too much N? I'll take some leaf pics tomorrow. Here's a few pics from this morn. IMG_0580.jpgIMG_0581.jpgIMG_0582.jpgIMG_0583.jpgIMG_0584.jpgIMG_0585.jpgIMG_0586.jpg

Calcium lockout from too much Nitrogen?
Is that a result from ionized Nitrogen trying to reform with Calcium? Or is there a different mechanism that causes this (pH perhaps)?

http://www.pnwgardensupply.com/pages/Calcium-Magnesium.html
Calcium deficiency symptoms appear initially as generally stunted plant growth. Necrotic (dead) leaf margins on young leaves or necrosis around the base of the leaves is very common. In its advanced stage it can eventual lead to death of the terminal buds and root tips. Generally the new growth of the plant is affected first. The mature leaves may be affected if the problem persists. Cupping of mature leaves is a tell tale sign of a calcium deficiency.
...
The most common cause of calcium and magnesium deficiencies is lockout. When there is too much cal-mag already in the untreated source water being used as the base to the nutrient formula it can cause the good cal-mag in the plant food to become unavailable. Think about it this way - the cal-mag in your tap water has a large molecular structure and is very immobile in that form. These molecules try to go through your roots and up into the plant where they can be used. The molecules are too large to be absorbed efficiently and end up accumulating on the outside of the roots. This causes a road block that can lock out the good forms of cal-mag you are trying to feed them. Other key components of the nutrient formula can also be locked out and the problems escalate until your plants appear to be stunted and yellow and growth crawls to a halt.

No not really burnt, more like this 1134calcium-11.jpg I'm using RO 23ppm I've been adding a pretty healthy dose of cal/mag every feeding. I think connoisseur might already have some calcium in it but I have also heard that coco usually requires a little more calcium. Only FA2 is really seeming to be having any issues. FA1 is biz as usual.

Well the ppm's are low... so I sincerely doubt you're getting calcium lockout from that.
What forms of Calcium are you feeding and how much? Do you use Calcium Nitrate (or an analog) or just one of the Cal-Mag solutions sold at Hydro shops?

I've been giving 5ml/gal Sensi Cal/Mag Bloom.. I know that Connoisseur already has some so I have a feeling I need to fall back to adding the cal mag every other, or about once a week. They had been handling it fine in veg and with the Cal/Mag grow. Any ideas?

looks like potassium deficiency to me.. could wrong i suppose. or if you are burning the leaves by getting nutrient water on the leaves

It's a Calcium def........problem is you need to know your PH before doing anything! Have to verify that it's NOT a lockout before adding more cal.

Good luck grower

If I'm reading the specs for that correctly (3% Ca by weight) and assuming the solution has a similar density to water (1g/ml), then you are getting
5g(.03)/3.785L = ~40ppm/L Ca

So that might be a little low (I give my tomatoes more than that). But PSUAGRO is on to something better; the pH...
Are you still using only drops for checking your pH?
