I'm pretty sure that pound would last me a couple of years of personal use.

It's a hydro grow, but in terms of dialing in climate they got it all taken care of in a sealed room. How to seal it so there is absolutely no odor coming out. Got cooling and co2 going on and 3 1k lights.

I personally like to water plants from the bottom. Two ways of doing it. Sitting a pot in shallow water for a longer period of time and letting it wick up, or setting it in deeper water all at once and drain away in a shorter period of time. I prefer the second method most times to make sure that there are no dry pockets within the soil, but that's usually only an issue if they dry too much in between waterings. My thought is you could build wood and fiberglass troughs that you can set the pots down into and build them couple feet off the floor. Figure out your watering schedule to flood and drain. Would be quite similar to stinkbuds hydro then.

And even though my chilies got water in the rain, two are still horribly wilted :(

In my experience, it doesn't take too long before sitting the pot a long time in the water can lead to root rot/overwatering symptoms... that's what happened with my 5 gallon smartpots this time right before flower... i let'em sit and bottom up water I guess in a little too much water :) But too much water in that bottom few inches of dirt is bad... although with the airpots that's not as much of a concern due to the holes in the side and bottom that let the bottom air out.

ChernoJill #2 - Around Day 26-28. Minor topdressing tonight... mostly to fill in the outer pot edges where the soil has retracted

Yeah it's a 56-63 day strain, so only 3 weeks to go - this one looks like it could be an 8 week strain based on how fast it's putting on meat. They're getting a lot of light at the top where those red hairs are so probably maturing faster. Apollo is one of the grandparents of this strain and it puts out red pistils all the way through the last half of flower. May just be because I grow a lot of apollo related strains, but red hairs don't really mean shit to me in terms of the buds being close to done - I don't even take that into consideration in what I look for in a done flower. I look at the swelling of the buds (have they swollen as much as they possibly can) and trichs (have they started ambering or not). This one is also already starting to get cloudy trichs -- in the full resolution image the trichs are pretty clear and they're about 50% cloudy 1/3 cloudy now.

I don't know about smartpots, but my 2-gallon Geopots have roots out the bottom after about 10 days from putting a rooted red cup clone into them. After moving to 7 gallons from 2, it takes about 2 weeks for the roots to start showing through the bottom.

Just saw your comment on watering. In most cases I'm in coco coir. Though my goody chilies are in cow manure in 5 gallon pots. I have in some cases left one a quarter submerged in water for a day with no ill effect. That said I do tend to prefer a deep dunk for maybe 5 minutes a plant.

It starts today...

I got wood for the new cab... it's gonna be 4' wide x 6' high x 10' long. I really wanted to do 12 but there was no space in the room where it needs to be for that. I don't have room for my old cab in there too so I'm going to be disassembling it and using some of the 4' and 6' pieces for the new cab. Gonna go get new panda film today and a coupla supplies from the hydro store, gotta pick up a portable AC still. Decided had to go portable AC as putting in a window unit technically requires notifying the landlord, although I doubt she'd find out. Looks like I'm gonna have visitors apparently a 12' section of the back fence has fallen over and is leaning against the storage building (from the house you can't see due to the storage building) - neighbor told the landlord who told me... yeah, the neighbors are friends with the landlord. One's deaf too I hope she doesn't have a heightened sense of smell :) But this cab move is a good move it puts the cab in the upstairs corner of the house away from that neighbor and venting 20' in the air away from the street. I'm gonna put one of my ozone generators in front of the air intake as well so that the air going out is scrubbed. Will have an o3 generator outside that room inside the house as well to prevent any inside smell. Dunno what I'm gonna do if the parents ever come visit although that's the easiest room to hide it in if there are visitors... plan is just to put a bunch of boxes in the entry of the room stacked high and lock the door :) Will have to hope if they come visit that it'll be in the winter when we don't have to run AC :) Anyway, so i'll be prepping the room tonight and probably getting the AC... installing the ac and building the cab in the morning. So exciting! Also gonna be busy transplanting cuttings the rest of them in solos (over 10 still) gotta get transplanted. The ones in pots already gotta get topped they're getting nice sized now I haven't looked at'em in a couple of days but they're pretty happy. A tad stretchy but that won't be an issue once they get the LEDs over them. For now I'm going to run them on the other side of the cab from flower until this batch of flower plants is done then build them their own new cab sometime before that.

Yeah it does... my pipe's got a lot of resin in it so hard to pick much up but i've definitely picked up some of the flavor.. pretty light, but it's just quick dried no real cure. Figuring when it's cure time here I'll probably pick up a new fresh pipe that'll only ever have my flowers in it :) For a long time i've wanted one of those wizard pipes like gandalf's in the lord of the rings :) i've seen a few places online to get'em just haven't done it... thanks for stopping in mith definitely planning to just trying to work out the best way to get cuts there

Early timewreck is a pretty sweet daytime high... it's a little energetic and almost racey... was smoking that cone early and marching in place... then went in to work and I was walkin' around all brisk and alert it definitely doesn't drag you down or sap your motivation/will to move at all. Think that's the vortex pheno it's not as trich covered as the trainwreck pheno is. Got a little over 1/3 through that cone earlier gonna go finish it off in a minute.

A bit bummed went and checked the bank account to make sure I had the $$ to get the a/c and it was a lot lower than expected... to where i've had to go with a much smaller unit than I had planned and even then i'm hoping there's not going to be issues making it to payday. The one I was originally looking at was $499, which is a lot more than I wanted to pay but cheaper isn't really better with portable acs. The one I'm gonna go with is $299 hoping it'll do the trick otherwise not sure what I'm going to do. It's a horizontally sliding window so a standard window ac won't fit even if I wanted to do that... and the acs made for this kind of window are as expensive as portable acs. Worried a window ac would be spotted and reported by the neighbors though.

Last night was a work night up til 2am then up at 6am to start working again and also move the plants... never made it back to sleep, gotta take the lil lady out tonight so she doesn't feel too neglected (and also to get my ac ;) ), then tomorrow gotta put together the cab and also do our lawn... gotta transplant a bunch of clones into regular size pots this weekend (over 10)... i'm sure it's gonna be another weekend where i feel like i was busy the whole time and didn't really get to relax... and the wife'll probably give me a hard time about being so busy too.

BUT

it's the home stretch... my 8 gallon timewreck I can see being done in 2 1/2 weeks (8 weeks)... the rest I think at least 3 weeks for the next up, maybe more.

Nice... smoked the rest of that cone an hour or so ago... maybe more not sure... then had a bowl in the pipe of timewreck and choc chunkey monkey mixed up and grinded... i am baaaaaaked... was sitting here feeling no pain like on pain meds with my feet clinching (in a good way like you just had an orgasm not in a cramp sort of way)... good medicine for sure can't wait to see how it is after it's had 3 more weeks of flower, dried and cured properly... should be off the charts. I may be in love... clipped a small branch of the one that looks to be done in 2.5 weeks... last time i had some of her about a week ago she was already more mediciney feeling than what i had today... laying on my side still can't keep upright kinda thing melting back into the bed. Yum. Kinda curious what this stuff will do for owl and void since they have a lower tolerance and will enjoy the medicinal effects even more than me. I went and moved a bunch of 10' boards up and down stairs and then moved all the plants around for their 12/12 swap high still goin strong
