I'm current starting day #3 of germinating seeds. The seeds cracked and the taproot begin to emerge after the 1st day. I was not home last night (day #2), and the temps dropped to 60 degrees. When I came home and felt the paper towel that the seeds of laying between, it felt cold. My question is, will the seed's still be able to germination without a problem?

There are plenty of reasons to take 10 dollar + seeds and germ them where you can verify the germ.
I think it is stupid to not understand the reasoning.

Sure, if I am taking a handful of some of my crosses that I have several hundred seeds of, nah I dont germ, I just plant.
If I am taking a single seed I paid 10 bucks for, I am germinating it to see the tail. If it doesnt pop, I will crush it and send an email saying it arrived crushed.

So you germ in a paper towel so you can lie to them? Seems legit

most seed companies will send you a new seed if you say its crushed, because they wont send you a new one if it wasn't viable, because of legality issues. i hear a lot of experienced people use the cup method and as soon as they sink they put them in the soil.

Okay everyone, but whether using paper towels or soil, should they be okay if the temps were to drop to around 65 degrees (give or take) at night?

Yes, in my experience it'll be fine, but it just takes longer to grow. When I germed at 80 degrees, the seeds took 2.5 days to break soil. When I germed at 70 degrees, they took 4.5 days. HOWEVER, there is some talk that lower temperatures when germinating increase the likelihood of females. And when I germed at 80 I got two males. When I germed at 70 I got two females. Could be coincidence, but I will continue to germ at 70!
