Girl Scout Cookies - [GSC-OTM] 2x4x5 tent 400W HPS SCROG ORGANIC

Hey guys, I had another journal on here, could probably find it somewhere on my profile... Anywho, one of the seeds that sprouted pertaining to that journal only had one cotyledon, I figured it would die almost immediately after sprouting, however it lasted for a week or two before randomly shriveling up and dying. I also have a gnat infestation, probably why the seedlings are growing extremely slow, with only 2 nodes after two or three weeks from sprout. I got a GSC(girl scout cookies) clone, original thin mint pheno clone only. As for all the GSC-OTM seeds from Cali Connection(or swerve if you prefer) they are actually Fortune Cookies, not the thin mint pheno at all. Not trying to bash anybody or anything, swerve has admitted to this however, I am sure you can find it somewhere via google. The clone I got was about 12 inches when I first bought it, I let it grow about 6 inches, then tied it down so the main stem was facing the pot, kind of like the start of an S if you were to look at it from the middle up. [ S <- ] It has grown about 4 inches in the past 3 days, I am trying to LST it to grow like an S at first, allowing it to branch out while still staying short. Then I will start FIMing the tops, I have already fimmed a few on the lower side of the plant, which is now getting a lot of light since I have LST'd all the branches to grow horizontally. I am going to try to get 10 tops or more and keep it under 2 feet tall. I am scrogging it out for flowering so I dont have to worry that much more about vertical growth after that. Before I go into flower, I am going to supercrop the tops on the upper half of the plant, and let the lower ones come up to form an even canopy, then I will FIM the tops on the upper half and super crop the branches that were on the lower end and are now main tops(if that makes sense, lol) I will have much of the canopy growing horizontally by this time hopefully, then I will put it in to scrog. Not sure how sativa the OTM pheno is so I guess I will wait and see. I have a few pics of the clone from the first day I got it, will be putting them up. Right now I am using a wire hanger, cutting pieces off it and bending them in half to weigh down some branches for LST, cheap and easy. Unfortunately I don't have any current pics, these are from a few days ago before any training at all


I heard and have seen that girl scout cookie buds can have small purple spots on them, so I have placed this gal right next to the AC intake. Temp stays between 65-77 with lights on and around 63 with lights off, would get freezing cold at night, like 40-50 so I added a portable heater and after a few nights of tinkering with the knobs, I have got it to go to 64 at night

Forgot to mention the soil!
I transplanted the clone into a 5 gallon pot with 4 gallons of Happy Frog, 1 cup kelp meal, 1 cup bone meal, 1 cup blood meal, 1 cup super manure. HF has mychorizae fungus as well so once it has rooted it should form a decent root mass in veg, might add about 1/4 cup of all of those nutes because of the gnat infestation for a couple days, the larvae eat shit like that, blood meal is their favorite. This soil mixture was for my autos, and it should be light enough for the GSC to take mostly tap water all the way. Going to use superthrive, KLN, and hydrogen peroxide during veg for the water. & Budcandy to bring out the frosty whites in GSC. See you on the other side !

Just went in and supercropped a few fan leaves lol, didn't want to cut them off so early because there aren't that many, just moving it out of the way of some nodes. Will take some pics of the newest growth, cant decide between fimming and toppping for the top growth, should I just FIM one and top the other? Lol, will show some pics tommorow morning of what I am talking about...

Walked in and my ducting had come apart because a connector piece came loose somehow, used aluminum foil tape, and a metal hoop it came with to tighten it back on. Surprisingly the temps were only 83 with no AC! I was shocked, I must have done something right with the airflow. Tonight I will take a picture of the tree tops I am thinking about topping or fimming and will edit the pics so you can see what I am talking about

Forgot to mention in the first post about the water, I also added about 3ml of neem oil per gallon

I have made up my mind, I will continue to LST until the stem looks like an S all the while fimming or topping some lower nodes, when it finally looks like I want it to, probably after 3 or 4 weeks, I will supercrop the tops, to allow the rest of the canopy to catch up, then I will top all of them, then top those tops.

Damn, 204 views! Must be the cookies lol, this thread is getting 15x more attention(I actually did the math ) Plan to do about 4-6 weeks of veg and take clones within week 4-6. Going to throw the clones in the old grow box with the sherbert mother I got the other day. I will use neem oil and lady bugs heavily in that situation and probably veg the clones with just a t5 and keep the mother under a t5 for its whole life. t5 will ease it up on the power, and heat. Should be able to get the clones well rooted in there with a heat mat and clone dome.

So I bug bombed the room and have my lady bugs in the fridge, I will add them tommorow. After the bug bomb there are no gnats flying around and none crawling around in the top few inches of soil, I assume there are still larvae so I am watering with hydrogen peroxide. Pretty easy to get rid of gnats actually I saw these little blotches that looked kind of yellowish orange but very lightly and faded on a few of the leaves. I am not too sure what is going on but I haven't closely inspected since I watered, I assume that it has recovered since but if not I will get some pics so you guys can see what I am talking about. I am actually going to clone this gal about 5 times before flower, 2 for the next grow and 3 for that same grow but outside with an old friend who is moving in with me! My friend is an excellent grower, he and I met in highschool, when I first started growing around junior year.(I don't count any of those grows at all because they were all illegal, I grew the purps in my closet for about a year, had one plant and just let it do its thing, just grew it basically like I grew my mothers tomatoes, except with nutes, would yield about a quarter to half an o every time, after that I stopped growing for a long time and in the last year I have started to grow again, had 3 grows so far) He left to a different country after that and told me that I inspired him to start growing the magical herb. His mother had cancer, and had her medical marijuana prescription, her other ailments made her bedridden without mary jane, he told me she was allowing him to grow as long as he supplied her with herb. This meant so much to me, he is saving his mothers life, and I can help do something about it. I started taking botany classes and did over 1000+ hours of online research until I was finally ready to teach him all I know. Funny thing is he grows outside and I taught him mostly how to grow inside, so he is also primarily self taught, I just got him up and rollin. Now I am eager to learn a bunch of new things from him when he gets back to the US, funny how things work out.

Could really use some advice here, the stem is looking pretty purple throughout the plant, as well as the leaves having these yellow/orange blotches on them. Will get some pics up for better example later tonight but please post your thoughts! Its not like a bunch of random little dots, its maybe 15 splotches on the whole plant, looks as if it was a raindrop that dried out on the leaf, if the raindrop was yellow/orange in color.

My best guess would be it is asking for some nutes, the tips arent burnt or anything so its not over ferting. Even some of the leaves on the bottom and top of plant were showing symptoms. What I will do next watering is use 1 drop a gal of superthrive, should have backed off on that last watering, and use 1/4 strength FF grow big veg nutes.Or I am wrong and its necrosis ....

So after reading up a bit, I went out and got the lineup of nutes, organic of course.
FF Grow big
FF tiger bloom
Flora Nova one part grow formula from GH (7-4-10)
GH one part bloom
Kelp Meal
Bone Meal
Blood Meal
Super manure

K, so I read all the backs of everything I have got, and if I am correct on my reading of it being necrosis, then it would need the following;
Potassium, Magnesium, Manganese, Boron, and Copper
FF Grow big contains MG, B, Cu, and Mn, however not that much potassium (says 6-4-4)
The main reason I am even considering using GH floranova over grow big is because it has calcium in it. However GSC likes light nutes and 7-4-10 seems pretty heavy.
I am also going to be sprinkling kelp meal on the top of the pot working it in to the soil, good for the roots.

Every which way I look at it, seems it might be asking for the nutes, so in about 3 days I will give it some grow big, only because it is lighter all around than the GH.

Here are some quality pics that show the blotches I was talking about, I am thinking its necrosis, however would really like to hear some other opinions on what I should do.
You would not believe how hard it was to get the camera to focus on the stem, I was standing still for over 15 minutes, not even baked. You can see its red and purple all over the place, whats up with this?
A look at the way I am training the plant, this is actually the opposite way I have it tied down, I just did it this way to see if it would get better light on the lower nodes and it did, but they are facing downward.
A look at what I am smokin on, trainwreck and pre98 bubba kief mixed.
Saw this fat ass spider outside the tent on a blanket, decided it would be a perfect time to test out my neem spray solution. First squirt it stopped moving altogether, then after bombarding it with the spray it shriveled up like that and died

I am not a vendor my friend, would love to be, have no patients or anything like that, its mostly for personal consumption, or spotting a pal a gram or two from time to time. & wow, 400 an ounce? Top shelf at the local dispensaries is like 378. I'd have to grow some dank ass bud for that How much do you pay a gram round your parts?

Got the lady bugs put in the tent, I was waiting to do it at dark, and also waiting for them to mate Got some horticultural sand and poured it over the top of the GSC pot, all the way to the brim. Didn't do this for the akr and BH because I had already put lady bugs in the tent and there were for some reason alot on both soooo did not want to suffocate them, I'll let the hydrogen peroxide kill the larvae on the roots, as for the gnats, there are none, since I bug bombed I saw one above soil and immediately implemented the lady bugs. Got my other bugs outside as well of course, stacked on that. Would take pics but its 2:45 AM and lights are off Temp is 71.6 I topped the tops on the very top of the plant where it came out like a Y, then topped about 2 more tops above the middle of the plant. I also topped a lower one a while back and I thought I fucked it up because I ended up peeling the stem in half, as in down its middle, I nearly cried. I got some tape and fixed that shit up pronto, then I was feeling yolo so I just topped it right below where it got cut in half, worked out well actually, can see two new nodes coming out and getting thicker. I am trying to top as much as possible before I hit the 6 week mark, which is when I am deciding to flower, thanks to kinddiesel's info( thanks brotha! ) I decided to veg 2 weeks longer than I was going to previously. On week five I am going to cut about 5-6 inches off the top of the plant for clones, it will also work to top it and I can get it lower for that scrog! I am suuuuuuuuuuuuper stoked to have this little lady. Also, the problem doesn't seem to be getting worse so I imagine it was the NPK, I didn't really inspect it at all to see if the marks/blotches were still there or not but it didn't look any worse than before. Going to water in 2-4 days with some tap water & the following;
Hydrogen peroxide 1 part h2o2 to 4 parts h20
drop-a-gal super thrive
KLN rooting solution, half strength or less
a splash of neem oil

Oh forgot to add one more thing, I noticed the stem turning purple where I had hung the wire hanger mini weights for the lower branches, so I think its the LST that turns the stems purple, maybe they arent big fans of that Whatever, its basically curved in half reducing its size by around 30%. When the tops on the very top(top two) become 4 tops, and are about 6 inches tall of new growth on them, I will supercrop all of those tops, so the other tops pop up there and make a nice canopy.

A majority o the stem is looking kinda dark purplish and the stems for leaves are red/purple, is this a problem or am I all good? I checked the PH, really trying to find out the prob with those splotches... It's not pH I would assume... My ph level is somewhere in between 5.5-6.8 I am not too sure exactly because I use drops. The lower tops are responding to the topping, the top two tops are obv doing it faster, can't wait to see how she reacts to being supercropped on all the main tops >

Get a picture up of the spread Cali, if it`s purpling stems that`s one thing, if it`s that yellow spotting that`s spreading that`s another entirely. I`ll try to stick around in case you can get some off tonight . Need to see how the leaves are reacting though, would go miles

Can't get any pics off tonight sorry mate, however if you look in the last post I included 3 close up shots of the fan leaves that had the problem and a pretty nice pic of the purpling stem. The only thing that has changed since those pics is the plant has come out of shock more or less and is reacting to the topping, I can see a bunch of new tops coming out of all 4 places I topped, they are all just as big if not bigger than the growth that had been topped above them. Since that the leaves have gotten a little more orange looking but still yellow, and it has spread around the edges of some of the leaves, not that many have this problem so its not too serious yet I hope, another note, the lady bugs all seem to be on their backside in the tent, not sure if most of them are dead but I will occasionally poke a few and they will squirm around a bit then go back to their original position, wtf?



( a friend of mine went a wee bit overboard on his plant count and I told him the repercussions of this the other day. So he calls me about ten minutes ago and has decided to leave me a few of his little gals! He is only over by about 10 so he is giving some to me and the others to a club or someone else I imagine, I am not sure which strains I am gettin from him but I am UBER psyched about that! I will just veg them out for 1-2 weeks or until I can clone them all then I will just flip em to 12/12, hopin to harvest around the time I switch my other gals to flower, not sure how long of a flower time any of the plants will have so I obviously have some research to do... That will be just a side grow, kind of a half ass grow, not really going to do hvac or anything like that, just a 600W hps hanging about 6 feet above the plants with one industrial sized fan blowing on them for air circulation, I will need to get lady bugs for that little setup, after cloning them I will move those clones into my clone dome in my office closet with the sherbert mother I have in there under a t5, will veg them in there for about a week or two and move them into the box, if I have two small ops going at one time I could harvest more often, but this is more or less a one time thing, I am going to get a bigger tent after this grow and start growing outdoors, wont be posting any of the outdoors though, maybe some harvest shots )

Here are some picture updates !

No shots of the new growth although the tops are coming along quite nicely, you can really see what I am talking about now and if you look at the previous pic update you can see how it has gotten worse. The plant looks fine other than that small problem and as you can see with those other pics the akr and bh are coming back! I use KLN rooting solution, 1ml of neem oil, grow big 1/4 strength, hydrogen peroixide, and superthrive during my last watering and all of that for the watering before last except the grow big. I am going to start using only hydrogen peroxide in my next waterings and lay off the nutes
