For the best bang for your buck try checking out the HTGsupply.com packages they have. Comes with a tent, starter hydro system, light, and basic fans. The carbon filter is a must and is an added option you can throw into it. Just gotta do a little homework on the matter.

I grow in a closet that is in a guest room. May have to do some conversion as I am here in the US =) My closet it basically 4'x2'x8 tall and has an attic above. I use a 400W HPS/HID combo light. It gets hot so you have to use an inline fan and duct hot air into attic. You will also need a carbon filter....I have my filter in the closet ducted to the hood on my light and then ducted out to attic. It still is hot but I can keep it under 85 degrees. The smell should not be a problem but it will get stinky, I also use some air fresheners that are not overpowering but blend out some of the smell. You should be fine there.....The issue you are going to have is getting heat out and the fans you need (inline fan) to do it! They are not quite....I have a spare room but you are going to have fans running and light seeping out unless you seal off the closet. If anyone was to walk into my spare room they would hear the fan, I have had an unexpected guest enter the room and they didn't notice too much, maybe figured it was bathroom fan or something but you need to be aware of the sound issue. For you maybe look into T-5 or LED both run much cooler and you might not need as much or loud of fan but you do need to bring fresh air in and hot/stale air out. LED would not be in budget (expensive) but T-5 or CFL would be. If this is first grow I would start in soil. But of course you may want to get the equipment first then learn to control the environment then add plants. Learn the basics while reading up on here then figure out what works best and how to upgrade and improve. Hope that helps!

Dude, if mommy doesn't approve, respect the fact you still live under her roof and don't grow.

He stated he lives in a house and his mom drops by all the time.....not that he lives under her roof. Otherwise I would agree ^ As far as hydro set up goes my first hydro set up was an ebb and flow and was pretty easy to set up and maintain.

Dwc is not for beginners even though it is easy to setup. Requires cool res temps which are hard to maintain in a closet environment unless the temps are low. Basically any hydro set up is going to require more work than soil. Weekly res changes topping off and checking ph all the time. I mean it is not hard just requires your full attention especially if have never grown before. You want to pull the air in from cooler area like the room it's connected to. A window maybe. It can be passive meaning the negative pressure from the fan pulling hot air out and ducted outside the grow room pulls fresh air in. If you can duct to attic that would be great. If you can maintain the system above and do everything right you could get 1/2 lb off one plant even more or a lot less. There are lots of factors. How much light and how much time you grow in veg will be key factors.

so you've got a 4'x8' closet with a hatch to that attic?? yes, that is absolutely perfect for your first grow lol. you got like $700 so you could fabricate the closet quite well and smell would definitely be no issue.

shopping list:
-orca grow film - trust me, get this not shitty 4ml thick mylar or something like that.
-6" inline fan+carbon filter combo
-ducting
-some 1 gallon smart pots and some 3 gallon smart pots
-i run 2 400ws in my bedroom closet, it's up to you though
-t5 light for veg stage is a good idea

that is a good list i would suggest to get started.

How about you list things and we give advice. No offence but I don't think anyone will give you a complete list of all items. You need ppm meter ph meter etc.... The little things add up

so if we all contribute a little bit it will help him figure it out better, and maybe he won't make as many mistakes or useless purchases as some of us did when we first started out.
