I am still thinking of flowering my mothers next round.

I did terrible job of Bonsai'ing them :0)

Here is the Chem 4 OG mother:
Chem4OG-Mother.jpg

Here is the mothers area:
Mothers Area.jpg
(this is four full length T-8s attached to a board that I can raise and lower)

Before I flipped, I took clones from the one Hawaiian Snow plant:
Hawaiian-Snow-Clones.jpg

That is all for now....this seems like it is going to take forever, at this point! :0)

Take care,

Take good care of those Chem4`s boss, loving those. Maybe one of your clones could replace her if they show you the right stuff ... or do replace with a seed Mum? Looking clean in there man, love the tightness. As always, great job mate,

Thanks for the time.

Yes, that is what I am thinking of doing, to take new clones from each mother,
and then flower the mother.

I have read that there might be issues with doing this repeatedly, like the
senescence we deal with in mycology, but I am certain that this is a long way
off for my genetics, at this point.

Now, what I have not entirely thought out yet is the number, container, and
method that I would use.

I have eight breeds to flower: DH1, DH2, BC, QT, PB BX, AK, SOM, and COG4
(two Deadhead phenos) and am thinking of using 5 gallon buckets as the
flowering containers.

The thing is that I have not done a SCROG, but believe that these mothers
are too far along to get them into a screen...unless I have a few 1000W
lamps and a huge room to grow trees in. :0)

What I am thinking of doing is to insert found long rods into each bucket,
along the edge, and then to make something like those tomato hoops
by hand. This would allow me to train the tops apart somewhat.

....it would also allow me to move plants around which will be critical, as
my tent only allows access from one side.

I would want to flip immediately.....these are going to get huge already.

Take care,

JD

Thanks Dude.

I checked the notes for this crop and am seeing these predicted flowering times:
Flowering Times:
=================
49: TGA Subcool Seeds Qrazy Train (7 weeks)
49-56: Cannaventure Seeds Purple Berry BX II (8 weeks)
56: Cali Connection Chem 40G (8 weeks)
60-65: Barney's Farm Blue Cheese (9 weeks)
65-75: Cali Connection Deadhead OG (11 weeks)
=================
These flowering times, adjusted for reality, suggest a flowering period as long
as 13 weeks.
I know that 13 weeks is a long time, and I will let the plants say when
to harvest, but I have found that the sellers predictions tend to represent
the perfect grow, or some such.

So, this grow will be out of my tent as late as August 7.

This will be just in time, as things will get hot after that.

I hope that the ladies will deal better with it....it only gets as high
as 90F where I am a few days a year, but will be 80-90 for a week
or two at a time for a few times in the Aug-Sep timeframe.

Take care,

JD

No worries. Anywhere will do. :0)

I have found that it is participating in discussions, and sharing
what I have found has helped me begin to get connected here.

Do know that making a cool post, and then waiting a day or two
for someone to notice it will happen.

I have also focused myself on the forum that I need most, Indoor Soil.

I am branching out, and find that the vert forum is very active, for example.

Take care,

Keeping connected is what it`s all about ... got to check on your people :). Most of us will shoot the breeze for hours in a weed discussion, haha, easy to learn, lots of experience here. Any updates for us Java?

Hey KC,

Well, I am continuing to hash out a potential plan to insert a new crop into
my planned crop sequence. Up next is an amazing Sensi grow, but I am
thinking of flowering my mothers, as they have gotten big.

Considering the long flowering times, and potential chop date for my current
crop, I decided to cut the ladies back a fair chunk, to give them room to grow.

TrimmedMothers.jpg

All that light green lower growth is going to explode.

I am thinking that a transplant into 5 gallon containers will be in order.

They are in 3 gallon smart pots right now....but several of them are only
3/4 full....for some stupid reason.

I expect to have to do this again. These ladies will be dense! LST, and
a lot of it, will help.

Take care,

JD

P.S. You might get a kick out of my current sequence plans. I have all the
seeds, and plan this:

Crop #4
===========
Sensi Seeds Jack Herer
Sensi Seeds Blueberry
Sensi Seeds Hash Plant
DNA LA Confidential
Reserva Privada OG Kush
===========

Crop #5
===========
Barney's Morning Glory
Barney's G13 Haze
G13 White Lavender
Green House Arjan Haze
Green House Super Lemon Haze
===========

I might bounce around the names of a few other breeds that I have,
as #5 is my attempt to gather all the very long flowering sativa types.

#4 is going to be right off the hook!

Are those 5gal Root Bags with the handles or 3gal? Either way those are awesome brother, great job on the trim as well, should set them up well for a flower :)

Your Run 4 looks like the Factory almost right now, haha. I`m running Jack Herer regs, OG18`s (always), LA Confidential, and Burmese Kush and hope to drop a run of Black Domina regs and Strawberry Cough regs by end of week. Working on 2 strains in particular using the array of these genes, selective breeding for phenos.

Surprised to not see Super Silver Haze on that list mate ... my favourite Sativa I`ve ever smoked, ever. And quite pleasant to grow in bunches. Would fit that bill real nice ... would also suggest Old Timers Haze from Ace (I believe) if you haven`t looked into them, you should, would also fit in nicely. Excellent as always Java, sorry for inflating the thread on ya,

Inflate! Inflate!
Please Elaborate!

(read as a cheer ;0)

I am maintaining a wishlist of breeds, and will also gladly jump
on things when recommended and available. (a friend came to
me to get me to jump on the PurpleBerry with him and from the
site, it looks like it was a late, if not last, chance on these BXs).

I will look these up, but I know that source matters. (not seller
so much as breeder, of course).

I will bouce back with some URLs if I can find what you suggest.

Thanks bro.

JD

P.S. I am finding:

BuKu
Black Domina (this looks like a very cool and pure Indica)
Strawberry Cough (I see two sources of this one....hmmmm)

I found Ace seeds....an amazing Sativa collection.

They have the Old Timers Haze. I will get some.

What source of Super Silver Haze would you recommend?

Haha, I use the GHS cut of SSH, got regulars a few years back before everything went feminised on us and made a few hundred seeds that are still okay I think ... :?. Had a friend grow the Old Timers Haze, helped him out a bit, took a good long while, but the most color I`ve seen aside from some of the Ape crosses. Worth it to swallow the blow to yourwallet and breed you best male/female, flower the rest, you`ll be pleased.

When I`m done my first strain BlackJack OG (Black Domina, Domina Lady pheno x Jack Herer x my OG18 cut), I`ll be sure to send some your way as well. Also working a Sativa down the road, Strawberry Snow (Strawberry Cough, pink pheno x Hawaiian Snow BX2(SC)). The HS is a GHS cut as well, the SC is from Hazeman Seeds. The Herer is Sensi/my own selective seeding, BuKu is THSeeds (sorting for a keeper pheno) and of course the cuts of OG18 are originally RP, but I`ve seeded my own stock more than once to my liking (so I consider it MY cut now :D)

Dude! You rock! :0) :hump:

I swore when I had to cut down a Purpleberry male, a very
strong plant, that I would set up a male/pollenation tent the
next time I get that opportunity. Pollen is not difficult to store
if it is dried properly, from what I have read.

I had to laugh when I read about the oldtimers haze....16-20 weeks
Hello! LMAO....that would be so cool. Dammit, I will do it, but
I think that my Haze Crop will be done by 14 weeks at the latest,
so it will have to be later.

Great stuff. Packing a bowl of Somango. Cheers!

Haha, appreciate it brother. I set-up a 2x2x6 tent just for finishing off my choice males and collecting, and then moving my choice mother(s) afterwards for pollination and finish-up so they don`t flower with the rest any more. Been working great, had to carbon filer both the intake and exhaust side of my exhaust fan though and have a DIY HEPA filter for my intake. Gaurentees me both seed and bud always now, and allows for breeding potential (now that I added another tent to have a second and/or third dedicated set of genetics). Could shoot all night about seeds and crosses mate, haha, glad you have the bug as well,

**Edit - And if I recall properly, the OTH had a pretty low yield as well. Some very soothing, complex smoke, definitely something you`re keeping for your conny stash IMO ;) **

I like your setup....it is very much what I am working toward.

The Ace page on OTH was pretty honest, low yield, but this
is no problem for me....kinda makes me want to try it more,
as yield is no issue for me.

My Somangos did not yield as well as the AKs, but it is a tastier
smoke. The AKs may be stronger, but I love funky bud.

I think that the OTH would suit me well. :0)

Take care!

Hello all,

I will be posting week #2 photos on Wednesday, but I noticed
today that I am seeing the PurpleBerrys getting purple already.

It is starting in the leaf veins from the top:
