AC Window Unit Question

That's what I'm trying to figure out now. Any suggestions for that?

edit-there would be a door (obviously) to get into the sectioned off part. I'm worried about odor getting into the other section when i open it and escaping from there into nosey noses.

Vents placed on the wall directly under the eaves would be the least suspicious looking. The hot air will rise and be pushed out of the vents. Maybe a few vents at the bottom to allow cooler air. Anything that will allow air to escape will be sufficient.

Since that is just metal siding, you might consider at least some foam panels in on the walls to hold in some of that precious AC.

Thank you woody.

Jericho, should I be worried about smell escaping from those vents? I had thought about using one or two but I'm worried the smell would carry through noticeably. I had planned on insulating the shit out of the entire shed haha.

Yes, the small problem will be difficult to deal with in your scenario unless you are growing in tents inside of your shed. If just in the open in the shed, odor will be hard to tame.

think i would build a room inside of the shed then stick the ac in the wall of that ............. or is that what u guys are talking about?

I was planning on using the green caulk (can't remember the name at the moment) and from there doing this

Foam-->sound dampening board (can't recall the name of this either)---->drywall----->matte white paint

Also planned on putting some smelly goods in both rooms and separating the two rooms with door that opens into a "room" just big enough to close the first door and open the second. I've got ideas on how to seal that room pretty well but it would be hard to explain it without drawing a picture. I'll do that when I get to a computer.

i wouldnt put no smelly stuff in my grow room.............i would just use ply wood and regular insulation like any other room.....caulk the corners stick the ac in a hole paint it white ...........theres a way they drill a drain hole in the bottom of the ac for a hose so u can run the water out

I meant onoa or whatever that stuff is I see a lot of you guys using to mask smell. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm weird and my wife is the only person who knows what the hell I'm talking about when I say shit like that.

When I get something together I'm going to use sulfur or something similar to test for leaks/bad designs.

i dont really know much bout the ona im not sure if youre supposed to put that actually in the room....... a huge fan and filter is what u need ..........intake for the light and two passive intakes for the shed 6 in for the light a y connector for the exhaust........like a tent inside of a tent w a window air.................might be confusing but it all makes sense get ready to spend some money

I'm planning on getting the 6" max line fan and a phresh filter for that set up. I'll need to take measurements before I make a decision, though. I want to be able to run the fan at about 50%-75% with the filter and muffler, while still moving enough air. Another thing I plan on doing is building a rectangular box before the out vent to further disburse the noise.

got it in a basement..and im sorta up north not to much tho..I got this one http://www.lowes.com/pd_367199-37610-GL-PAC-08E4_4294749561__?productId=3652601&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1&currentURL=?Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&facetInfo= before my temps got up to 89 degrees so i had to get an ac unit..so i set it in their sense its rather small and hooked the hose for the exhaust to some 6in ducting i had leading from the tent to the window..Put it on auto set and it automatically keep the room around 75 degrees..it's also on its own timer so it cuts on when the lights do and still have a intake running during the night.
