DNA Lemon Skunk mother has been kept for over 20 years in Las Vegas and the father was chosen in Holland. The male was donated by Eddie, formally the owner of one of the oldest and most prestigious seed banks in the Netherlands. This original prize male was selected and used in many breeding projects throughout the years. DNA Lemon Skunk will grow tall and is a good yielder. She has great smelling buds that are light green with thick orange hairs. DNA Lemon Skunk Feminized has a high calyx to leaf ratio. DNA G

ON WITH THE SHOW.....
WAKEY WAKEY.....(4days ago)....

This is the best method for germination i have found and works 100% of the time, IF seeds are good! planted 4 days ago.....

1. Place Seed or Seeds in a Shot glass Filled with bottled mineral water of ph 6.
3WP_20130615_023.jpg

Ta lime, now let them be for 2-3 hours (NO LONGER).

2. Fill a seed tray with your medium, anything will work but i have found FOR me either root riot plugs or in this case coco coir works best as they stay nice and SOGGY!
4 seed on side.jpg

Place your seed on its side...this is very important, i have no idea why but i have found this works. i have placed seeds pointy end down so that the tap root goes straight down, problem is the husks never come off, and if they are upside down i believe it can add 2-3 days germ time while they right themselves and tire them out. each to there own but this works! (try it!)

3. Cover very loosly with more coco and water with bottle water ph 6, do this once in the morning and once at night, a small capfull is plenty....place on window, under hid, we place under blue CFL.

4. wait!!...DO NOT TOUCH SEEDLING OR INSPECT HER SHE IS GROWING. dont stunt her now find something else to do! lol

5. within 24-48 hrs you will see this (ta lime!)
5Lm seed seed poking head.jpg
6. and within 48-36hrs you will see....
6Lm seed sprouted.jpg

works every time!!!

Next update on seedlings when they are ready to be mainlined, in a week or so.....

preparations are being made on a temp flower room so big Bertha here can be flowered next week....will run inside this diary....she is a DNA lemon skunk c9 (9th gen clone of a clone!) so untill then questions welcomed!!

i agree DNA's imo is THE DANK!, never done the stomper, though hows the lemon smelll etc compaired to dna.

i dont know about you but i havent found many phenos in my lemon skunk from DNA which for me is a good thing.

SLH i must have done shitloads of these beans thats my slh in my avatar. trouble with slh is no two plants are the same, its a joke. most arnt very lemony at all.

i rember when i ordered some slh from green house, they sent me some arjans haze, with stickers over the name saying slh, i complained they said they had simply run out of slh packets. but rest assured they are 100% slh......turns out i was the lemon free king that run!!

Female seeds lemon Kush imo was a joke too. 5 pips popped, all 5 had a nasty cat pissy smell to them when in flower. That carried through to the end product. Needless to say i was gutted. I smoked a lemon strain(i love lemon weed) a few years back and I've never found anything like it since. The smell outta the bag was amazing, so lemony. The smoke was mouth watering it literally was like i sparked up a lemon. Now as a grower i wish to fuck i had asked the name of that strain lol

me and you have had the same experience mine was a weed dealer back in 2004 or 2006 maybe. it was light green like neon green, dense nugs, lemon smell that not only smelt of lemons but it ment you couldn't hide ya head stash under ya bed without ya bedroom smelling like a vi-at-ma-nise grow house!!

needless to say for some reason about once every 5 years i just so happen to find a guy with a bag of it, when asked what it is they reply....."ya star, its like a lemon type fing me bredda, piff piff piff".....

its at this point i switch off.

the closest thing i can think to it being is dna lemon skunk as its neon green with bright orange hairs.

but ill be honest i still haven't grown any lems thats been the same as the one that got me hooked!!

i done female seeds white widow x big bud, grew like a shit version of widow, looked like a shit version of widow and fucking hermied i will not be purchasing again i feel like they skanked me outta 15quids.

Yeah the ww x bb is prone to herm, it's ment to be the big bud genetics that bring that out. I had a couple of freebies from the tude, gave them away to a guy on here:) nah he didn't mind think he chopped them at 6 weeks.

There's a uk clone only called 'las fingers slh' . Never smoked it myself, but been told it's a punch in the face lemon pledge taste n smell. Yet to track that cut down.

i would have no fucking idea were to start looking. ive never heard of it, maybe thats the missing strain weve both had?? theres also a blue cheese from Birmingham that is neon green and smells like mouldy cheese so strong.....i wouldnt mind the purple slh pheno....im sure its just cold temps and people trying it on, nothing in the lineage would suggest it would purple.

slh should be every beginners plant you can abuse the shit outta her and still end up with 10oz.....

yh the blue cheese clone only is known as the 'ronnie biggs' cut. There was a few people up here in Scotland with it a while back, dunno what happened to it.
There's a strain that breeders boutique have called 'psycho killer' that I'm itching to have a bash at. There's an easily found lemon pledge pheno that I've heard is the shizzle.

i would love to get that cut, was a fantastic smoke, i tried crossing lemon skunk with barneys blue cheese, we called it chemon / blue lemon. i feel chemon is better, but thats another diary for another day....

Nah not really "in the know" lol, Scotland is just that small it's not to hard to find out through circles who's got what lol.
Aye chemon sounds nice. If you do a journal for it remember not to mention the 'circle' we don't want to booted again lmao

One week on.....

ok so one week on and the seedlings have been moved from there seedling pots. after a week in them, roots starting to circle a little, i prefer this i think it makes for the start of a tighter root ball.

they have another week to reach what i consider the veg stage (5 fingered leafs) if they do it will let me know im roughly were i want to be.

they will be aloud to grow to five nodes, then they will be mainlined as explained in nugbuckets thread. no clones will be taken.

as soon as them roots hit that rez its party time.

untill then heres lemon n lime with the girls.

AND NOT SO HAPPY, due to heavy handedness the very tip of the root time was suppercropped, you can see the effects even at this stage, i am a plonker!!

JUST SOME NOTES....

: coco does not do well in the net pots. i have noticed even when there is a large root mass in the res, if the coco is dry growth will slow. when i watered the coco growth exploded. the coco i believe is not fast working enough for the DWC idea. it slows the process down making it imo a poor choice of medium for DWC.

: Gravel is a far better choice, and has ALOT more weight then the hydroton i was using. it wicks water well, holds it for quite a while, and because of the weight it prevents the net pots from tipping when the trees start budding. it also looks more natural and i like this. note even though the gravel is heavy this DOES not hinder root growth or slow development.

: RES SIZE this is an important note to remember LK. bigger res = better plants + more control. using a 15 litre res for vegh is fine but not good enough for flower. must revise flowering buckets. 60+ liters. am having trouble finding bins that are squat and wide. i can only find tall ones. also storage tubs/ totes are not stong enough when filled and bow out.

DAY 13.

2 weeks from seed and looking good, still had nothing to eat. roots are in the res and growth is more or less were i want it to be, i was aiming to get them slightly ahead of were they are now.

no diff's no mutants other then a few wired pointed leafs, but not to worry theyll be gone soon. both nearly idetical

they will continue as they are untill i see the small cotolygens (didnt even come up on spell check) have turned yellow. they are starting to now. i am hoping i can use this method as a good indication of when to feed, and it will be plant specific.

i was worried about the roots in the net pot with just pebbles due to the increase in weight on them running out of food and taking ages to reach the res.

this was not the case and they have worked perfectly also increasing plant stability in the net pots. i can also say that the pebbles plant seems to be growing slightly bigger.

whilst its not a downside it is important to note that the root structure in the hydroton is slightly better.

lemon n lime with the picks!
