Why does something need to be valuable (ie valuable to human life) to deserve a right to life? Doesn't that run counter to your entire ideology?

Also plants don't think or communicate with us, at least not on any conscious level like you are implying. Talk about clueless assumptions.
Stop only reading my replies and instead read the entire conversation, you're just lost with every response. HE said that human life is more valuable than animal life and then listed all these human inventions or discoveries as to why they are. Little does he know that most things rely on each other in some way or another. Humans NEED plants to exist, does that make plant life more valuable than human life? Both animals and plants would exist just fine without humans on this planet... could humans survive without them?

As for your second part, he said that plants, despite the fact that they have saved and cure way more diseases/people than humans, do not think so therefore are less valuable. My question was... why does something need to think to be valuable, and besides, how would you know that plants don't try to communicate with humans in any way to help benefit us?

Why does something need to think to be valuable ?... Well, If you can`t think, you can`t believe, and if you can`t believe, you wont have Faith. .......Now when I talked to God, I knew he`d understand, he said, "stick by me I`ll be your guiding hand,....Don`t ask me what I think of you, might not give the answers that you want me to".

jt, I think plants communicate to us on a chemical level. Ever since I went strict vegan, my thoughts are now more clear. Keep up the good fight!

I've heard about, but haven't looked into it too much, that certain psychedelics, such as ayahuasca, can allow us to understand what nature is saying. I've heard that some cultures who live in the rainforest have been told which herbs and plants to use as medicines because of revelations while under the influence of ayahuasca. There's so much about consciousness we don't know, it's frustrating but exciting at the same time.

Does anybody actually play their gear and actually sing anymore ? Those drums in my avatar are mine since 77, and I can still rock `em. That video I just watched is a joke. It`s all pronouns, Me, My, I,I,I, myself, mine.
Really ?

cannabineer, you said your research has been leading you to eating even more meat. Explain. Don't refer a book and then tell me to go read it, that sounds more of a cop out than anything. Actually explain, for health reasons, why humans should eat meat.

To each their own. I enjoy a balanced diet that includes meat. It doesn't bother me if others abstain from meat, but I hate when they try to tell you it's absolutely bad for you. People have been eating meat since the beginning of humanity, and it is an amazing source of proteins and healthy fats. Of course not all the fats are healthy, and you can get protein from other sources, but nothing will give you protein like lean meat. Don't even get me started on soy protein...

You can eat whatever you want, but if it coincides with sitting around all day and doing nothing but living in the digital era, you have not accomplished a damn thing. You have to live a healthy life style, not just eat one, and there are more than just vegan choices that will give the same and/or better results. I agree that processed meats are more than likely garbage at best. I hunt, fish and consume a fair amount of self provided meals, with a lot of local fruits and veggies included make for a diet that suits me and the wife just fine. We eat so little fried food, it is not worth mentioning, but grilled and baked, bring it on.

Peace
