Conclusions and Relevance Vegetarian diets are associated with lower all-cause mortality and with some reductions in cause-specific mortality. Results appeared to be more robust in males. These favorable associations should be considered carefully by those offering dietary guidance.

Meaning everything being equal, vegetarians have a longer lifespan. I am not a member either but we still have access to the conclusion.

After correcting some measurement errors, the researchers in Europe had to conclude that not only was red meat intake "no longer associated with mortality" but "all-cause mortality was higher among participants with very low or no red meat consumption."
All things being equal, people that eat little or no red meat had a higher mortality rate.

I am just going to go with the odds and eat red meat in moderation so I can have a better chance of living longer.

If you eat Red meat and die. They will almost always find 1lb of undigested red meat in the corpse. Everything in moderation even drinking to much water can kill you though it rare.

That doesn't even make sense either. If it does, please explain the health properties of red meat that will extend my life.
Why don't you just read the study?
I am sorry science does not agree with your preconceived notions.

There are more studies, including one that came out earlier this month, that have shown that meat eaters have lower lifespans than vegetarians. Vegetarians don't NEED to supplement, many do because they maybe don't know which foods to eat to address deficiencies or it's more convenient, but it is not a requirement.

. In fact, in this study, vegetarians live six
to nine years longer, which is a huge effect. But
vegetarians are also more likely to exercise, be
married, smoke less and drink less alcohol—all
factors that also contribute to a longer life. The
actual causal relationship between becoming
vegetarian and living longer is unclear, and is
certainly smaller than the correlation might seem to
suggest.

Details are very important.....

I could post more studies too.

Eating meat in moderation is not unhealthy.
There are many factors involved in lifespan besides diet.
Genetics plays a huge role.
If you live in Mexico City or Bejing, you are going to be more likely to have respiratory problems.

There are many people that believe one's blood type should determine diet. Type O should eat meat and few carbs, type A should be vegetarians... I haven't read anything more than opinion on that.

Saying, "eating meat is unhealthy" is a pretty broad generalization and nearly impossible to prove.
It is different for every person.

You are going to have to come with much more compelling evidence to change my mind about meat and how it relates to health.

Personally, I have IBS and I noticed that the day after I eat a steak I never have symptoms.

You have IBS and eat meat everyday... hmmm. The steak most likely just covers up symptoms temporarily, like most drugs would. I do agree that one of the reasons vegetarians have longer lifestyles is because they likely tend to be more health conscious in general w/ lifestyle habits, but how is it a good thing to have decaying animal flesh in your system?

If you go by some of the multiple studies out there, if you listen/follow to some of the greatest minds in human history (Einstein, tesla, sir issac newton + many more), and if you observe "blue zones" (places where people live much longer compared to the rest of the world)... the conclusion is that vegetarian diets are the healthiest. Also, just the fact that plant-based foods offer great protection and cures against diseases is another indication.

What does climate have to do with veg? Norwegians live longer than you and they eay disgusting.fish crap.lol,.it's.because of the cold,.not the diet.

Right,.but it's not only the veg if that is all they do eat in this "blue zone" then it's a number of factors, not just what they eat. You would have to create an elaborate.study to actually see the difference.

Now you are just being rude and dumb.

That is an opinion and a very dubious one at best. You condescend a lot and don't even know you are doing it.
Is that a byproduct of vegetarianism too?

I do agree that one of the reasons vegetarians have longer lifestyles is because they likely tend to be more health conscious in general w/ lifestyle habits,
That is reason number 57 why the studies do not really prove much either way.

but how is it a good thing to have decaying animal flesh in your system?
So you are giving up and going with condescending douchebaggery?

Your opinion is not necessarily fact.
