He probably had serious munchies and wasn't gonna stop making his sandwich "for no pigs"...

I hope he was white, just before some American turns this into a racial thing...
I hope he was "pink" - at least it'd be a new race to hustle over... ;)

Not on sherm-sticks... Those drugged out fuckers can go all day, it's like tasering actually recharges them...
I disagree... the human body isn't superman when on drugs...
My friend got tased while he was rollin.. & his heart gave out & passed away.

Tasering after shooting is just dumb and an obvious sign that said officer doesn't understand use of force escalation. 4-5 armlengths isn't a safe distance from someone wielding a knife and a taser isn't ALWAYS effective. They SHOULD have had an officer with a taser and two with firearms drawn. Hit the dude with a taser and if he don't immediately drop, open up with a firearm. Then again, we are all Monday morning quarterbacking on this one as we weren't there.
I have a feeling that the cops tased him after so they could try saying "We tased him, it didn't work, we had to shoot him."

Trying to cover up their rush to shoot him.

Well this did happen in Toronto, which is probably the dumpiest city ive visited in Canada. They have a knock off Seattle Space Needle and that is about it...nothing really worth visiting for. Now they have cops like this? That has to hurt any kind of tourism they have.

from the second angle you can see he was down after the first 3 shots. why were the other 6 necc.? did he have a hostage in there?
they were within the taser range anyways..... why not use that. not to mention the dude was backing up not coming towards them when they fired. ...

Wow , 9 shots to take him down. What cartridge they using up in Canada nowadays? .177 pellet guns?
You might want to take a look at the new pellet guns, some of them have muzzle velocities approaching 1200 fps. Close range and even a light projectile like that could drop a man if it hit him in the right place.

Actually I think the cops did the right thing. I remember this happening and glad he never took the street car on a joy ride. Who knows how many would have died.

he was mentally unstable to put it nicely. he was convicted just not of doing it with intent to kill the cop. he was retarded. vile, are you canadian? if so, where are you and when would you like me to slap the shit outta you.

dont try and bring up your bullshit excuses and bending the convo away from the thread you started. this kid was playing with a knife on the streetcar just like you would see a kid flip a pen or coin between his fingers. he made no threat, the ttc driver saw and knife and called the cops. just because it is unfamiliar to you does not make it a threat to you. fucking dumbass wanna be canadian, get your ass back across the border. take these filthy cops with you while your at it.

My opinion? In order to not turn it into a race thing, don't even ponder the perp/victim's race. It's not relevant. cn

I have to agree with you. Maybe he wasn't a real threat.

No, see we are talking about the moment when the officer had him dead to rights and didn't need to actually shoot and kill him, remember, everyone at that point was already off the bus.

What you are doing is trying to take an earlier situation and mash it to fit in another time, in a completely different situation.

Now, if a cop, or anyone for that matter, had turned around, saw the dude wielding a knife in the back of the bus and was actually putting someone's well being at risk, then it would of been a justified shooting to protect innocent life.

However, those innocent lives were no longer in danger, the threat was over, and the cops had the dude pinned on the bus with guns drawn. At that point, it was completely unnecessary to shoot him at all.
