1. Germinating
What i do is i take a paper towel fold it to a square so it can fit in a ziploc bag, get it wet and put the seeds on the paper towel fold it once and cover the seeds up. Make sure paper towel is wet and put in a plastic baggy. I have heard people say put it here or they wont germinate. I have put them on top of the fridge, outside, in a dark closet....and always get seeds to sprout.

2. Planting
I just buy Organic miracle grow dirt from Home Depot or Lowes. Maybe like 6 bucks. Get soil moist and use a pen tip to put a little hole in top of soil, careful not to go to deep, maybe as deep as an eraser head. Always put seed in sprout down, they will have a white tail which is the seed starting to sprout. Cover up the seed lightly and water very delicately so not to move the seed around in the soil.

And thats pretty much all folks. I put my finger in the soil to check how dry they are before watering. I leave them outside and there fine. No nutrients, no nothing. Its just a weed, let it do its thing.
Tips, i do add sand to the soil to allow for good drainage. I top my plants to keep them short and bushy. People say you have to let it grow so long before you can top, i top at 3 nodes including codleyn and no issues ever. I water with tap water, no checking ph, no confusing science...its just a plant lol.

LOL. The "Veteran's" method of growing reminds me of Cartel's guerrilla grown weed (Mexican weed):

Step 1 - Scatter seeds randomly all over any dirt
Step 2 - Water and hope that half germinates
Step 3 - Repeat step 2 until buds fully ripen
Step 4 - Harvest and enjoy yourself some grass smelling, low potency, bunk!!!! SIMPLE.

Newbies - You don't want to waste your time and energy on Mexican weed!!!! Grow it properly. Great job on setting noob's up for failure "Vet".

And using the MG,

Last time I went to Home Depot, the Scott's sales rep was there. As I was purchasing peat, we struck up a conversion regarding their miracle-grow line-up.

I told him I used MG many years ago, then moved on.

His response, "I hope so, the MG product line was originally created for beginners".

I still use mg organic soil... I find it cheaper to buy mg soil, than to mix up my own, and theres a lot less variables to it. I mixed up my own for years with pro-mix, worm castings, chicken shit, etc... And it worked, well... but unless I was growing 20-30 plants, it worked out to be waaaay more expensive than the mg stuff. That... and I've had a few bad bails of pro-mix. I also find I get less critters digging up my shit with the mg soil, than I did with the pro-mix and various types of shit soil. I really cant complain about the mg stuff at all.

But... I DO feed my ladies.... lol

I once grew a 25 foot plant in nothing but a pile of dog shit. I know your thinking how can I do that...well you cant I was able too because I was a veteran. It was awesome best 45 pounds of smoke I ever got:roll:

What's funny is, I used to be one of the main culprits. I thought I knew everything, and didn't know shit...took me 3 years to un-learn all the myths I thought were facts. Like my old molasses thread in which I once stated it improved flavor and increased sugar content of THC...when all it really does is feed microbes.

You can grow good buds with cheap soil ,I wouldn't recommend MG, though it does work, home depot has kellogs patio mix $5 1.5 cu. ft bag (organic) and kellogs 4-6-4 organic fertilizer $8 add some peat moss $9,castings and azomite and your good to go...so many folks are misinformed and get duped into the marketing hype and end up paying 2-5x more for fancy labels,op was just trying to prove that no need in spending so much money,you guys really want simple cost effective soil mix your own,check out https://www.rollitup.org/organics/636057-recycled-organic-living-soil-rols.html

I only implied what you already posted:
"Its my experience that plants whos branches snap easily are under watered. Maybe even root bound.

As far as the mites go... I have never had a mite problem outdoors, but indoors, usually just keeping the dust down, and the humidity level higher, and making sure the plants are well watered controls them fairly easy."

Which is incorrect.

Miracle grow is the number one soil used by newbs and I grew with Hyponex long ago , sticks and sewage sludge haha , possibly the worst soil of all . O well I moved forward and those who accelerate will leave it behind as well .

I say let them play with MG and then you can tell them so when they come back asking for help with cal/mag issues hahahaha ..

I love this place , its fucking priceless ...

Coco is my thing but even Miracle Grow got there fucking nutes in on this too , MG Expando Grow .. I can tell you this much it has time released capsules in it as I discovered this at a garden center when a skid of it got rained on .. Pissed me off too as those time released capsules are not good for the environment or animals that come into contact with them..

Kiddie you should have posted in Newbie central or General marijuana growing im sure folks need help, over there lots of questions are being asked maybe you can shed some light there.

just want to say that people buy and spend money on these plants to increase there overall yield, smell, taste and potency. like the farmers do, more food more tomatoes..capisce?
