Depends on the ceiling height for me. I have 8 or 9 ft ceilings downstairs in which case I would run all 3 bulbs in one line. Build out a frame with shelves and then run the plants floor to ceiling. Make one wall movable for access, I could see some good yields there. Or do 3 smaller individual setups, whatever floats your boat!

Only up to page two thus far buck so excuse me if someone already mentioned this..
How about a stadium setup when running vertical.. kind of a tiered system.. not sure if this is the way Heath Robinson runs or not..
Another suggestion.. check out heath's grows if you haven't already .. heath's the man is when it comes to vertical ..
i have seen heath's grow. i am not worthy.

i'm thinking of 3 individual setups for the spare bedroom, as i have enough work ahead of me after the move is over. gotta build two new spaces, one for 2500 watts and another for 1200. that should keep me busy enough, building a stadium just makes my head ache imagining all the details involved.

especially since the spare bedroom will be a spare bedroom no more once she gets back.

the truck is all packed up, the house echoes with emptiness, and we hit the road in 10 hours. will check in on the road if i can and share details of the build when i get back.

yep, final dry weight versus watts used.

i never pay attention to veg time, just the shape of the plant. i can veg some plants for a very long time and keep them small by pruning them for shape, cloning from them, etc. or i can make a plant tell in less time. i always have a supply of clones and veg plants of various sizes and moms around.*

depends. i have a series of small cabinets right now, some are smaller, some are larger. in the larger ones, i will do less plants that are bigger, in the smaller layers, i do more plants that are smaller.

most of the training is done in veg, i prune for shape. sometimes i will supercrop in flower if they get too tall, but not often.

i just switched to maxsea, they are chemical ferts. kinda stupid of me since i use organic soil, but oh well.

in the small layers i have now, i just use computer fans for circulation, exhaust, and intake, as well as some oscillating fans around to keep the air in the ambient area moving as well.

i've pulled over a pound many times from a layer with two 400 watters before, which is closer to .62 per watt. i'm just thinking that now that i have unlimited space rather than a rinky dink cabinet, i can really get close to a gram per watt.

but i'm not greedy, if i get only a half a gram per watt, i'll eat just the same.

thanks for your help, i'll check out your grow!

Personally I try not to touch plants very much once they hit flowering.

My personal preference is topping for 4 or 6 mains and prune everything else off.

With my 400w I try to not let my plants exceed 2.5ft tall.

Once I switch to 12/12 I use small amounts of LST to open up the plants and keep an even canopy.

This along with healthy green leaves sees me with my targeted 400g.

Please do check out my grow, one issue could be air exchange within your room.

hey i was just thinking, maybe you could do a setup thats split in half, with 2x 400's on each side, (flowering right?) then have a switch timer so that you only draw 800 at a time, then your fan's and shit can be your other 400w's

actually, you may have the best idea yet, kinda.

i have enough space that i can set up 1200 watts like normal, split off an area of the room as dark space, and rotate two crops underneath the same lights.

crop 1 goes under the lights for 12 hours in the morning, crop 2 goes under the lights for 12 hours in the afternoon.

a simple set up on caster wheels and i can roll the crops back and forth every day easily.

that may just be potato enough to work. simple, easy, cheap, and it doubles the output automatically.

i think i'm gonna do that.

yes i've heard of people doing that but that's if you have the time to be there every 12 hours and stuff, since the 400's are only 30$ a piece wouldn't it make it easier to just build two rooms with a switching relay? No moving plants ! :D

This guy was telling me he used to switch his plants manually, he literally couldnt leave his house for more than 12 hours lol :(
