Yeah cfls and LEDs are great! I think most of my stretching came from the light being too high up due the heat where I'm at the last month. Today is like the first day under 80 degrees... I kept the light high to reduce temps, but now that its cooled down and lights on it 81 and off its 71 I have the light about a foot above the plants, and when my cool tube comes in, I will be getting it even closer

im going to feed tonight with a tsp/gallon of dynagro, can't wait to see some growth. I'm gonna go smoke a cig and then check out your journal man! As for the photos, I would start vegging em 3 weeks from harvest, and after you harvest, flip em to 12/12

haha right on man, ya that heat is a bitch huh? Not sure on the colas, just seeing that every shoot I have given light to so far on the main stem has peeled off into a cola. so it looks like the first two on each node become colas, then atm each cola has 5 bud sites + it's top flower (base, 2x each node and the top) I assume they will get 2 more buds per segment. It's new for me. My first grow my plants just grew vertical and had no extra colas. Just popcorns and the main cola buds.

probably just these strains. I have done everything the same with my Dark Devil and it's like half the size and about 10x harder work. The shoots are just growing, just really really slow. that said, she has not hit pre flower yet and I think she will be fine, just a smaller breed. She has 4 colas + main right now. The foliage is so compact and tight I'm not sure I'll get much more so imma focus on maximizing those.

I think you might yield more than me, that HPS is slamming. It will be interesting to compare. My cola branches are almost as thick as my main stem so I'm wondering if that will mean bigger/denser buds

$92 each + $15 shipping. I got 2 magenta 150s. Probably add a purple next month, maybe a blue, still deciding.

HPS prices are dropping like crazy now, but my issue is heat. Don't own my house so venting heat is a major issue.

I can't compare personally since I obviously don't have an HPS system, but I talked to several vendors and hydro shops, all of them pretty much said they felt the H150 is roughly equivalent to 100-150 watts of HPS. Maybe it's horseshit, I dunno. I'll have a better opinion when I start my next grow and I can see my progress from start to finish.

Magenta is the flowering spectrum, so I'm taking that into account as well. It has mostly red, but some blue, and the Purple model is the veg, mostly blue and some red.

Here are some good links if you are curious. The energy calculator defaults the price of the Kessils at $240 each, so just plug in the best price you find in it's place. You can get the 150s for $100 bucks now, the 350s are about $240-250.

They are affordable now. The Kessils anyway. Depends on what you got the HPS set up on CL for but I am seeing complete HPS systems new for $400 bucks. You can get 4 Kessils for that and they are supposedly equal to 100-150 watts of HPS. The bonus being, very little heat, 32 watts power usage per unit, and better penetration than HPS (supposedly). The units are hot to the touch, but with a fan on them, they get down to warm. As far as I can tell they don't seem to emit any noticeable heat. I sometimes turn off the CFLs over night and just let the kessils run, and man it's so crisp and cool in the mornings, it's nice.

I ultimately decided on them because of stealth reasons. I mean, 3 of them uses less power than 125 CFL. It's crazy. But proof is in the pudding, I wanna see da buds LOL

Gotta be careful though, If I mess around in the grow room too long white light turns green, it's fucking trippy. I gotta buy some eye gear.

wow, that's pretty sweet. $120 for the hps and cool tube is pretty awesome. Pretty reasonable setup price for the plants you turn out. I was initially thinking around 500 total myself. I may end up going with a tent eventually, which would push me to around 700 I guess.

My main fubar was not realizing how quickly CFLs can go bad. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I've lost 3 bulbs and 2 clamp lights so far. So that's like $130 bucks pissed to the wind.

Knowing what I know now I would have just saved and gotten led from the start. Live and learn I guess.

Since I bought an ipower cooltube, I'm thinking about picking up a 1000 watt switchable, dimmable ballast. It's between that or a couple kessils... Hmmm. Anyways I still haven't hook it up, I had to cut the connection end off and now I have to rewire it into my HTG supply ballast. I hate electrical so I'm having a buddy of mine come over to give me a hand ill post some Picts of the girls, and my new light and carbon filter setup.

When should I start bloom nutes? I gave a 2nd full strength feeding 3 days about and my soil ph is at 6.6-6.7. She's about a week and a half into flowering

7-9-5. It's just dyna gro grow formula. No signs of any deficiencies yet. I'm sure it could carry me through flowering wi a hitch, but I bought it so I might as well use it. I'm going to try liquid koolbloom on my blueberries that I almost killed case they were in bowls so long haha

Alrighty! I was looking at finishing times and the breeders info says 65-70 days. I'm having a hard time believing that because that's in a month. When will bud production really pick up?
