Guns don't kill people, gun owners kill people.

The more lawful gun owners there are, the more the morons think twice.

Gun Safety begins in the home and could be part of the public school training as well.
I think you got that sideways. Government guns shouldn't be used to threaten peoples homes to fund public schools. Homes should be safe from threats.

The fact is, there is a correlation between more guns and more shootings while bans don't correlate to reduced shootings. These parameters are difficult to reconcile. I think the best role for gov't in this case is to provide free training to registrants and require the training.

I would not suggest bans, I suggest education and I also suggest a more responsible discourse from gun advocates. While bans are not the answer, an increased number of untrained gun owners certainly contributes to the problem. If the training is good and employs veterans, why would anyone refuse to avail themselves of it? I can't imagine why even the most hardline gun nut would complain about such a requirement. I think they would gladly send their kids.
"Free training" ?? That's a very ironic way of putting things. Who uses guns or the threat of them to appropriate the money for this "free training" ?

What are you talking about? Could you elaborate?

I don't like the force used in funding government schools. Some people attempt to justify it or rationalize why it's "good". I don't think nonconsenusal interactions are the basis of something good. Plus I was busting Doers balls.

The money they save by being proactive instead of reactive will pay for it, and even create a few jobs.

Your feudalist utopia will never come to pass.

Just Google " average IQ's of Republicans vs. Democrats" or "Average IQ's between Blue and Red states". There are too many examples to list that prove my point. One thing that seems to be a sure bet, is that you live in a blue state. You would fit right in.
Keep telling yourself how smart you are. lol

Instead of regulating guns, most people would rather have programs set in place identify mental illness, and psychopathic tendencies. You know, the root of the problem...

Well they are criminals if they have bad intent when buying/selling the gun to begin with also you are legally responsible to make sure the person you make a private sale to is legally able to purchase the firearm/s and not a fruit loop or else you can be trouble for selling the gun to them. a lot people call the police to ask about the person before selling the gun to make sure they can own it and many buyers call and ask about the serial number to find out of its stolen or been used in a crime or they make the person go to the station with them to make sure everything is 100% legal then once they know its legal they finish the transaction write a receipt with serial number for purchase for proof and go on their way. You seem to act like most people just walk around everywhere in these states with private purchases for long guns like hey dude you have a gun to buy the stranger hands them the money and its that quick most people only privately sell firearms to people who are friends, family, or friends of family they know or find them on Armslist they email the owner to talk then meet up face to face where you should be able to cast judgement or if you are not convinced involve the police like many do if someone is unfit to the own the gun and you can deny the sale . A lot of guns used in crimes that were LEGALLY purchased were ILLEGALLY stolen from a person who did nothing wrong unless you want to say being a victim of gun theft makes you guilty which is why your are suppose to lock up your firearm/s and pay attention to them not leaving them in your house unknowingly and know where they are at all times also even if the gun law is more strict criminals will steal just steal guns from people allowed to own them whether they are police military or have a special permit gun violence misuse will never stop until ever gun is wiped off this earth and I'm sorry but that will never happen sadly.
I know of no one who did what you claim most do. I own three guns but only one was bought with any record. The other two were unrecorded private sales, completely legal.

A training program could encapsulate such a program.
OR give a young Dexter sociopath the desire to live out their fantasies. The government is incompetent. I have no faith in their ability to do anything. If the government were in charge a school program on gun safety, it would be all about guilt. Don't own one. Don't have one. Guns are evil. Say no to guns, etc. etc. And if you believe otherwise you're ignorant.

Well, you may be right, did you go to public school?

You live in Canada, right? How many murders were committed by handgun in that country last year" 200, maybe? That is the body count in NYC ALONE. Do you think it has something to do with ease of access to handguns, or are the people in your country just nicer?
NYC has some one the most restrictive gun laws in the country, much more so than Canada. I thought libtards were supposed to be so much smarter than everyone else.

Florida and Texas are #2 and #3 in murders by handgun. So apparently the states allowing more people to carry hand guns legally, kill more people than your average bear (pun), meaning Texas and Florida in particular, where the right to carry is not to be infringed upon like to shoot people But I guess all those death's were just citizens protecting their homes and families, etc.
Chicago, murder capital of the WORLD, has extremely restrictive gun laws. Cherry picking statistics that suit you while ignoring those that don't exposes you as a liar, or a fool.
