The campground at CFW is spread around several coves on the North end of the lake. The camp spots we used were over the hill from the boat launch ramp, which was where most of the campers were. We had the cove all to ourselves. Dec is not high season for lake camping, if we stay away from the boat ramp, we should be fine. Go take a look at the pictures on the first page of the BBQ thread, you'll get the idea.......come on.....when was the last pig roast you went to?.....

IMG_6403.jpgHey JJ, what do you suggest as a cover? I've heard there are carport covers with the clear roofs but I couldn't find a link, and I'd prefer that the walls would allow air flow. I assume the fitted covers have tarp material on the walls which isn't that breathable. Or I could just cover the walls with shade cloth and the roof with 6 mil. I'm just not sure how I would attach it to the metal frame. I used self tap screws with plastic washers on my pvc hoop house that I threw up. I suppose I could try that. Whatcha think?

You can buy a piece of 6mil greenhouse film from Farmtek cut to the size of a carport roof for about $30......I used zip-ties to attach to the frame.......I use sun screen because I need privacy. If that's not an issue, tokalot had a great bug screen, but you can see right thru it......good luck

Seriously doublejj your carport garden is amazing!
I love the simplicity yet clear preparation and care that is evident in every towering cola in that garden!

Also your sense of humor is awesome and refreshing! I saw your "expert advice" tip in open show outdoor thread and I had a good laugh. You may not be willing to claim expert level but that's only because you need not claim a thing, when your garden is as yours is.

Hence letting us all know you're human after all and not necessarily the Grow-bot 3000 you may sometimes seem, letting us see that yellow leaf and all.

Vaping one for your garden brother, though we all know they're safe from any elements!bongsmilie

The pole that runs down the sides. Duck tape a 1x2 board to it on both sides. Lay your plastic over the top. Then roll the plastic up in a slat board and screw it to the 1x2 board. This method works great in wendy areas. And you can really get your plastic roof on tight this way.

Hey jj, your carport frame is really coming in handy for this rain I bet. Just another reason for me to look into them next year. Sure could use some cover right now, were getting a good downpour here in Solano Co.

Yes, I just had to have that most dreaded of all conversations with my budding young girls. That there's a big ugly world out there full of bad things...... like Rain!.......they have never experienced rain and I knew that all the noise & commotion would only make them nervous & curious. So I grabbed a mug of coffee and went into the carport during the heaviest thunder & rain. Oh, the conversation included things like, worms, dew, mold, thieves, but mostly we concentrated on rain today. I explained where rain comes from & that is has many good uses, and when taken in moderation was a good thing. We all agreed that for now, it's best if I control how much exposure they get to it....here's a few pic's.....I think overall it went well. There were still questions, but I thought we covered enough for now. Now that they are becoming fragrant & well endowed young ladies, they are starting to worry about thieves....but whew, I'm glad that's over for now!;-)
