the real cause of hermie

So you hear stress can cause hermie. clearly. thats what happends right?

if thats soo.. well here, let me explain

what stresses a plant more than cutting off branches? i mean to me thats the ultimate stress factor. especially all at once.

the biggest loophole is.

what about hardcore scrogg growers? lollipoping and bending the shit out they're girls in veg and flower.

how many branches in total does a scrogg user claim victim of the flowering plant. lots..if this "stress" would be prone to cause hermie at a good rate. it would not be worth it. right? i would rather have 1.5oz total than the potential of 4oz and the chance of nothing bc of a hermie.

idk, just been thinking about this alot. figured i would write it down here and get some other opinions.

genetic have a huge role to play, if you have a strain on your hand that hermi easy, some of the above will for sure do the trick in flowering, I have experience with one that did`t like me super crop her in week 3 of flowering (end of the stretch) treat em like babies in flowering, do your FIM/top/crop/LST before or atleast very early on, and then I would go for the LST as its, well LOW stress training

Herming has alot to do with the original genetics, whether its fem or reg, how well the breeder is at making them, and some % for those random mutants that no one making thousands of seeds can avoid. Ive heard alot of the sour Ds and chems and trainwrecks are prone to herm just because of the mutant/inbred part of the creation of them.

Ive had plants that never herm no matter what. And some that have hermed off the bat. Others that herm when it gets too hot and some that herm if you let them go a little too long in flower. Most plants will do that last one.

But as far as scrogs go, as long as youre providing everything else perfect i.e temp, nutes, root zone, co2, light, then your plant wont be stressed as much because its thriving everywhere else.

but if you read the posts b4 mine You will see that " the Logic " must include way more variables.

Good Thought, keep thinking even being wrong is learning if you grow from the error.

I fuck up on lots of stuff daily, at 50 you would think I have the simple things down.

Growing is not as simple as anything I have done and I have done quite a few things.

I find it to have a long learning curve for me.

I Study, read, watch videos and ask questions, it's Tons of learning for me as I am on my first grow.

I agree. Its all about the environment youre able to provide. Thats what i was sayin bout the scrog question.

Ive only had 2 plants herm on me and one was root bound and the other got way too hot cause our ac shit out.

And as far as the fem and reg seed things go i didnt mean regs never do and fems always do. But in perfect conditions, after hundreds of regs and fem seeds have been planted, id probably put money on the fems popping the most. Which would probably be a small amount.


One thing though regarding breeders boutique. I got some DOG seeds that are fem and they said since they were made with non CS hermd sacks but then crossed and crossed again that occasionally youll get some to throw sacks but the clones shouldnt show any signs of that trait. And ive had friends who have said the exact same thing. A sack or two towards the end of flower but every clone after that was good. Just one of those random weird things that goes against the grain haha.

I am testing this theory this Crop, as I had to bend many tops over
after I mis-judged the stretch. ...some as late as the end of Week 4.

I will comment here if I do see nanners.

I'd say it depends on the risk assessment. Is there a 10% risk of getting noting but 90% of 4 oz rather than 1½ oz, then I'd do it without even hesitating.
Is the risk 50/50, then it's still a statistical good idea to do it.

But other than that.. I agree with you, I don't think light is the only thing to blame.
