Ok so I have been growing indoor in closets since 2000 before that it was all outdoor since 87. So many different things changed over the years including lighting and fertalizer. The addition of the frostiest strains I had ever smoked pushed me to talk to people/friends and find out what the process was like indoor.

First thing i learned is six matters More watts more dense hard nugs regardless of HPS vs. CFL hype the theory is the same more watts more light bigger better buds.

Second thing I learned was container size matters. Unless your fiming every branch line eventually your roots will need space or become bound. I started out using 2 litre bottles and then quickly changed to 2 gal or 3 gallon tall skinny pots. I also learned that you do not have to water your plants if you think outside the normal box. DIY systems are very easy very inexpensive to build. For example I use a simple wick system two tub separated when stacked. nylon rope inserted into the top tub hanging into the open reservoir created in the bottom tub. The base tub is filled with 2 gallons of water that the rope wicks up into the soil. The roots head for the water in this case the rope and drink the water spreading out making a nice dense root base.

Third thing I learned is that even if you use bag seed from some great smoke you can grow your own medication and never spend another dollar on shady deals from good friends :P

In the name of learning here are some pics of our first indoor test with hps.

We use a huge red tubberware storage and cut holes out of the lid to fit a pot the rope comes out the bottom of the pot and sits in the water resovior. I mist the plant during veg and only fill the water back up when i notice it is low. This is a simple wick system nylon rope draws the water but is also mold and rot resistant. This is very important!!!!! Nylon rope is mold and rot resistant normal wash line rope is not if its mainly cotton bound.

My best friend has been growing in doors 22 years and uses four of these tubs which holds each tub (2) 5 gallon tapered pots. He fims each plant and uses cheap green yard fence as a screen to keep the tops above the canopy. This is called Scrog or SOG. As the plant grows threw the screen he trims the lower half of all vegetation. He has some enormous cola but not really any pop corn size buds.

Also Fiming the plant when done right can create twice as many cola as what you see in the picture above. This maximizes yield. Keep in mind this is all done in a space that is 3ft x3ft x 8ft tall.

this was some frosty shit for not touching it at all with nutes and only using super thrive vitamins as a supplement to Black gold potting soil.

I will be posting our next grow in this threat to show the difference in our experience with SCROG and FIMing the plant.

Remember its a learning curve that you can use to your advantage because after all it is a weed. Water light soil some love

Great idea with the wick, I actually use it to drain perch water tables in my container veggies.

Lol at you calling cannabis a weed though. Unless you mean the actual definition as it is an unwanted plant. That's what weed means, unwanted. Plant. I could have a strawberry growing and call it a weed if It's not supposed to be growing

well no i use the term weed as in a plant that keeps coming back even when you try to kill it intentionally. Don't take offense to it as in the upper N.E. we call everything mj related as weed. no need to sugar coat it we also call what i just produced fire.

Yah the term is used loosely and if it was unwanted it would be legal just sounds funny me saying yo broda you got any cannabis sativa or indica ran out and my back is fing up ':P

love it for seed starting or lst training just add it as noted to my regular tap water and the plants stress is gone. It's hard to tell if it actually works but it has brought back some bad shape plants from the dead more then once. The active hormone is great for starting seeds imo 90 percent success with it 60 percent without....cant be fake...
