That it does, and nothing like home made pea n ham soup/broth at this time of year. Mmmm ham hock n barley goodness.

Gf's dad is cooking for me tonight. He never season's enough and get this bizarrely he'll spend all day making a roast dinner then plate it and microwave each in turn:shock:

Says it stresses him so he just does it over the day. Tell me I'm not the only one thinks that's weird.
That is weird if it's cooked up fresh and still hot in the pot. Why nuke it?

I like fresh potato soup this time of year. (be tasty with that ham soup mixed in)
Right before serving it dice up some big pieces of american cheese and serve.

The tomato bisque was Campbell's too.
The only milk in this house is chocolate milk.
I rarely make anything with milk. Potato soup needs it though.

How did you get sick?
Sounds nasty.

Nah that's my point he'll do all the items separate then plate up cold and heat when the family turn up. Weird no?

Got ya. Once the flu virus is in the air it's hard not to breathe.
I can't remember the last time I drank milk (other than cholate) or ate chicken eggs.
Sorta grosses me out.

Weird indeed for home cooking. I mean at work, this is how every sunday roast was done, everything cooked in advance, then heated up with microwave oven and grill to order. But at home? It's not that difficult to plan dinner so taht the chicken comes outta the oven at 7.

agh...look coming from a family of meat eaters, I used to scoff at people that said this. That is, until I started to notice how insanely unhealthy a lot of people in my family are becoming. I know its not all about meat eater vs. veggie eater, but to have some greens or light vegetables in your diet really does seem beneficial. I haven't really read research on the topic though I'm sure its out there, just speaking from experience.
