It Starts With the Build

I am glad we talked about CO2 this early in the design process! I have already changed my mind about a few things... Like trying to run a sealed room. If I can keep the temps I want, I will seal it off.

I am going crazy waiting for my new hood to get here! The last time UPS updated their tracker was yesterday at 6:41pm... That's about 800 miles from me. I am hoping it gets here tomorrow.

I took some some more pics of my Blueberry tonight. It is hard to not take pics just before harvest!

No it is not here yet! I am hoping for tomorrow. And yes, she smells wonderful. I am probably going to chop most of her down Saturday. She still has a few white... ish pistils in places... And way down low, but her trichs look great. Getting cloudier every day.

Happy harvesting mate :)

you can seal your room, run the light on it's own intake and exhaust (USE AN INTAKE FILTER!!!!) run the C02 @ 1300 and your A/C @80 and things should go great!
ac should keep up with the room once the light is vented

That is a new suggestion that I had not heard before. Use an intake filter on the air coming into the vented light hood? To protect the light hood?

And welcome to my journal Nozza! : )

i'm sorry for some reason (i was high) i thought you meant cool tube
no, what i suggested on an "air cooled hood" would just suck the co2 out of the room...
but what i'm saying is, that if you're aiming towards a sealed co2 room, a cool tube is helpful because it makes the light have its own ventilation, helping the AC unit keep up with the sealed room

Unless you can keep it 80-90 F with the co2 with your AC and no cooltube, it is going to be necessary to put the light in a "cool tube" and suck the heat off the light with a fan (remember this is on a seperate loop of air and your grow room is sealed up), making your AC run less.
If you set the a/c at 82 , it would kick on at 85 and bring it to 80 or so, giving you the best use of the co2.

so if your battling cold, it would be the BEST to put the light in there with no cool tube because the extra layer of glass will reduce the amount of light getting through, and help heat up the room to the target 80-90f with co2
this is why i recommended an intake filter on the light intake! dust would also build up on this glass, and further reduce lumen output

if you make an intake on this room, DEFINITELY put a changable filter on the ducting somehow. An easy way of doing this is getting a "filter rack" and building a "filter box". this box makes it sooo easy to change the filters and keeps your buds and lights and reflective materials and hoods all clean of dust. It's still good to clean once and a while

What you are saying makes perfect sense to me now, thank you for clarifying that. I can rig up the intake filter easy enough. I will have to research the "cool tube" you are recommending. I have not read about them. Excellent idea!

I just noticed the my titles changed from Marihuana Toker to Ganja Smoker and Pothead.

Lol. I am laughing because I have been both of those for almost 35 friggin' years and it took RIU 200 journal posts to figure it out.
