I didn't put pepper on my food until I was 20 years old....would only add salt if necessary. Now I am a pepper grindin' fool!! Love me some ground peppercorns :D

I never used to understand pepper when I was young, I just couldn't fathom mashed potato with pepper on it.

Then I got given a plate of smoked salmon which I doused in pepper and lemon. Been in love ever since.

Pepper is the King of Spices for sure. And I love pepper on my chips. Here in the Netherlands we have a strange but tasty combo which is referred to a Patatje Oorlog ( the potatoe war), and basically it's Chips/Fries with a dollop of Mayo and a Dollop of Saté sauce (spicey peanut sauce). It's one of my faves:)

And sometimes we also put Uitjes (onions) on top as well, lol....

That almost looks good.
We don't have peanut sauce here but those frys look awesome.
I like to eat them with vinegar, salt and catsup.

Fresh ground pepper is the bomb.

Catsup, I have not heard that word used in about 30 plus years!!! I grew up in the Far East and ate catsup with everything. But it wasn't Tommy K as TTT calls it, it was the Malaysian Ketchup which is like a soy sauce but sweet.
The Belgians makes the best fries, Vlaamse Frites!. There's a hole in the wall shop in the Dam that always has a queue running out of it that sells Vlaamse Frites..(which is where the chips in the pic above come from)

And courtesy of google>> the shop in question, with Q included, lol.

I made my own tom chutney this year with the tomatoes from my garden, if Pepper is the king of spices, Tomatoes must be the Gods of the fruit and veg arena!

I am getting the munchies now:)
