really? so if you have full-time employment and you become ill..you don't think you should be able to afford a doctors visit out of your paycheck?..this is not about health insurance.

this was an easy question guys don't over-think it..full-time employment = paycheck

paycheck = shelter, clothing, food and the ability to see the doctor when you are ill ie; a doctor's visit $75 (average "cash" price non-specialist)

no other variable needs to be included ie; playing poker machines, drinking/drugging your paycheck away..this does NOT include..personal items, transportation, entertainment..only the 4 items.

there are many dynamics going on here which we can address however, i don't want to lose scope on original post..

does the above clarification change anyone's opinion before i go further?..if so, please post..
Those four things would add up to well above someone income working 40 hrs a week on min wage. Just those four things, nothing else, why don't you put on that list " afford to raise a child " , something that needs to happen for all the lazy ass's to collect their social security and do nothing but eat their Mcdonalds in the morning, talk about expecting something for nothing.

A person can expect anything they want. I expect that free individuals make agreements with other free individuals and they are bound to keep them IF they agreed to the terms.

If somebody else wants you to meet THEIR expectations and you have no agreement with them and then they use force to ensure you do, I expect somebody is no longer free.

You're free to continue your silly poll now.
We aren't free and those aren't someones expectations, they are requirements. I don't know anywhere in America where you can freely walk the streets naked, or set up a tent anywhere and camp out, If I starve myself is that considered attempted suicide? If I decide to not take my child to the hospital to treat a illness and my child dies, am I held responsible for her death. Are you saying we are free, or not, cause you make it sound like we have a choice in these things.

I also expect, those who spend their day sitting around the house and trying to hustle the streets shouldn't have the same things someone working 40 hrs a week does.

Raising the minimum wage is not about helping the poor. Union public employee worker wages are directly tied to the minimum wage.

People who work at Walmart are going to be poor on $7 and they'll be poor on $14. Meanwhile, the hacks in the probation department, the water company, the dept. of business regulation, the DMV clerks, they all get bumped up from $60,000 a year to $77,000 a year. Their pay is tied to the minimum wage.

It's not about the masses. It's about making the government more powerful.
why? please expand..

They will NOT give you a straight answer. Doing so will admit defeat.
defeatist is in their own mind..it's a simple question..there are 4 basic necessities..can we agree to this?

shelter - a place to lay your head down includes electricity and water
food - what you can afford
clothing - what you can afford
health - doctor's visit when sick

do you agree that without these 4 necessities, you would physically fail and therefore, you would not be able to work?

And I completely agree that everything is tastier with bacon. I made the corn pudding for Thanksgiving this year because I wanted to modify the recipe to add bacon, among other adjustments.

Would you rephrase your question in the form of a complete sentence? I don't know what you're asking.

The McDouble is $1. 2 beef patties, 1 slice of cheese. Anything with extra is extra.
it's 2 slices of cheese, pickle, onion and ketchup hence the "double"..you said people would still be poor if they made $14/hour up from $7..why do you think this?

It has one slice of cheese the double is for the patties and most people are still poor while making 14/hour because most live above their means.

McDouble

Two 100% beef patties simply seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper, a slice of melty American cheese and topped with tangy pickles, minced onions, ketchup and mustard.

I like to order mine plain so they make me one straight off the flat top, not grab one out of a drawer. I don't do the sloppy condiments.

i stand corrected..thank you for the clarification..those rat bastards at mcd!..lol..must be thinking of the mcd double bacon and cheese QPounder

It’s the classic, “Two 100% beef patties simply seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper, a slice of melty American cheese and topped with tangy pickles, minced onions, ketchup and mustard.” plus bacon. Available for $1.99. So the upcharge for adding bacon to a McDouble is 99-cents? Hmm, might as well just add a cheeseburger. McDonald’s Math makes my head spin.

That used to work, way back in the day. Now, they still take it out of the drawer, they just don't put anything else on it.
