Zero rent, zero food expenditures, small clothing allowance, and we had a corpsman - so free healthcare (ish)!
I lived there a year with 18 other guys - we had an island (1500 sq miles) all to ourselves (excepting the gigantic bears, sea lions, foxes, wolves & an ass load of birds)
And I made 400 bucks a month !
