I'm growing 100% organic this time using FFOF and General Organics nutrients. I'm just wondering how much organics improve flavors.
Organic better flavor?

Hiya crispypb840, I can't say if improves flavour, simply because I Started out with being Organic or at Least as much as I could with limited knowledge on the Subject..I read up a bit more since and I've read peeps For & Against arguments(Debates) for me is BioBizz all the way..with some Bat Guano mixed into Soil..I Recycle(ROLS) my Soil and use Loads of Perlite and Clay Pebbles...and I put my Ladies in Air-Pots...The one comment I have had from my Partner and a couple of friends is how nice the Smoke is and not Harsh or Chem tasting but they only had Street Herb before this....
Anything Organic I'm interested in...I will be starting my own Compost Bin in NewYear and wouldn't mind looking into Starting my own Worm Farm(small one)

One statement I read somewhere?? Stoned 2much(if that's Possible) was - "Think Organic Tomato VS Bargain Range(Cheap) Tomato" So I kinda think it's down to individual....
Has got to be better for you though... + Did read that you don't have to Flush, though again I think that's down to individual....

Split my perp grow up one using my traditional miracle grow mix and one all organic (landrace sativas)
I have 30 something in each, my flowering room hits capacity around 70, so this isn't just one plant against another side by side....
My mg regimen is bloom booster(has good ratios for veg too, I use it throughout the life cycle) a touch of epson salt for the nutes..the medium is 50:50 African violet and perlite with a bit of lime(mainly for Cal)
My organic...not the best, wasn't gonna throw a bunch of money on something I will run once..ended up running it a few times to "dial" so it would be a fair evaluation
Its also 50:50 perlite but with an organic dirt mix from my local garden shop..added some green sand and bone meal, no lime this time not needed..and fed with teas as needed (rarely)
I realize I could have made a better organic mix...but it was all organic.. I noticed differences yes..for some reason they didn't like to droop with underwatering and couldn't use that as a sign of when to water..I can't pick up many of my plants so I use their drooping as a marker and mark the time it took....obviously I take into account the reduced uptake later in flower etc..
Anyway I'm rambling a bit......but i also noticed the taste was the same, the plants didn't seem any different structure/growth wise..nearly identical in everway except the root zone...as mentioned..they could handle over and underwatering much better (and I had to be careful with that) they also were less prone to orange perlite/ mildew and algea growth
Potency and flavor remained the same in my trials as did density and structure...I still have some in organic waiting to chop then its back to miracle grow for me...I am biased towards miracle grow as I've been using just over a decade.....so take this with a grain of salt I suppose....my wife couldn't tell a difference between buds though

Plants do not read.Organics are dissolved in salts.Salts feed the plant.Chemical fertilizers include sats.Salts feed the plant.

That is a WAY oversimplified view. There is a lot more going on in healthy soil than organics "dissolving" into "salts" and feeding plants.

I think it depends upon the strain, and other factors.
I would put it this way: A well dialed in organic soil will put you closer to the plants genetic potential than using synthetic fertilizers. With organics, the plant is in charge and will take what it needs from the soil (microbes) when it needs it, where as with chemical fertilizers YOU have to decide what the plant needs and when it needs it. Most growers using salts are following a manufacturers feeding schedule which is akin to guessing imo.

Artificially produced IN-organic salts are immediately bio-available to plants and Organic materials [carbon based] have to go thru a natural bio-chemical process to be rendered into in-organic states......
Yes, supposedly plants can't differentiate between an inorganic [Not Carbon] molecule that was synthetically or naturally produced, however YOU CAN!

Thanks for everyone's reply's. I believed I gained some more confidence in going Organic this time. I am all about soil and the relation to the plants. I love how properly prepared soil can maximize potential in quality. Maybe not in yield or growth rate like hydro. That is where I can see some growers love hydroponics but its not as appealing to me.

One of my good friends grows organic, his buds always taste good. I grow hydro, my buds always taste good.
His does have a better smoking quality than mine though, for taste and smoothness. But he has been growing longer than I have been alive, the grow medium probably has nothing to do with it.

Nutes do effect burn qualities and this has mainly been studied through tobacco...for example calcium adds weight to ash and makes it whiter, potassium slows the burn and better by expanding when hot..chlorinated nutes negatively impact the burn as does ammonical n..etc etc list goes on
One thing we've learned after decades of studies..is that flushing is counterproductive and chem nutes are just as effective and the same

Everyone has their preference. This is probably because it's what we believe works best. I tend to love the nature of things. Especially Cannabis and how it grows independently. Hydro just seems more temperamental and easier to screw up. Thanks for the 2 cents. peace.

I also like how the more thought you put into prepping your soil can give you better results. Hydro actually seems more simplified IMA.

Many terpenes are produced during SAR response. In other words, when a healthy plant is subjected to pest or disease pressure, it will produce certain terpenes in an effort to thwart the attack. We like these terpenes, because they smell and taste good. Thing is, plants exhibit significantly lower SAR responses when they are grown with and sprayed with chemicals.
Give this article a read if your interested. Yes, it's about wine, but plants are all very similar when you look at the big picture.
