Its not absolutely necessary and is a good way to learn and to get as right as possible the 1st time without problems. Then go for many pots when more experienced.

Don't know much about strains but I think you need auto-flowering seeds like lowrider or something. Or get some indica using lights 100% 6400k+ CFL at 1-2inch. After 2-3 weeks switch to 100% 2400k~ CFL for flowering. It works well for small plants.

I don't know how you figured out the sex because at that stage they all look the same until they flower or pre-flower. Just checking: how far are the lights? You know CFL can/must be at 1 to 3 inch? Looks like it wants to tip over the bucket? Not normal.

From my experience with them, I'm sure technically they work for 8+ years but physically built they are junk and the cheap ones will die in 2-3 years. The base of the bulb gets all yellowish and I think they leak and die. For sure its a scheme!

T5 lights at 6400k+ are perfect to grow up to medium sized plants. But they need to be real close to the plants to be effective around 1-3 inch when your clones are ready for full light. My plants end up touching the tubes they love it no problems.

You don't really need 105 watt CFL you can use many small CFL around the plant and it works better than a big one. To grow you need 6400k+. To flower you need 2700k-. Lights on the sides will help the plant grow larger so in your situation its good. If you want it taller just put 1 light on top...
