Should hps light intensity be reduced if plants leaves start tacoing aka curling upwards ?

When I think back 30 years with 2000W of Son-T's, that themselves seemed miraculous at the time, it's hard to imagine that it's even worth running HPS even if it was given to me for free. So much heat and so many Watts all in one spot. I'm sure people have their reasons but damned if I can see any.

first time growing autoflower, topping and LST

If you grow autos for a while you realise that it doesn't work like that, but most autos will respond without any bad reaction at all to being topped in the right way at the right time, however a plant that has been bent over well, will produce an equivalent result, it's very much horses for...

    Eazyplug Pyramid G & S challenge.

Hey @Burndoggin glad you like them. I'm not familiar with megacrop but my instinct says that a hydro nute like gh or gp3 would be better. Also the large pyramid is really way easier.

    Are my trichomes milky?

Some are. A rough guide is when 50% are milky, but sometimes quite a few will stay clear even if you leave them longer. There's no really hard and fast rule.

    Adjusting nutes in rdwc system

I'm currently running a pair of shallow water culture plants sharing the same 30L res. I start off with some nominal strength like 20ml each of Micro and Grow and 15ml Bloom. After a couple of weeks I'll bring the strength up to around 1500ppm and that stays there till she's starting to flip. if...

OK after a year of this I think I'm getting the hang of these plugs. Here's a pair of AK47 autos from mediseedman, they were the plumpest most vibrant seeds I've yet seen, one in a small pyramid and one in a large pyramid both hand watered. they started out with a similar phenotype and they had...

I'm overwhelmed. Questions about Reservoir-/Nutrient-Management and how Plants take up Nutrients.

eventually you'll stop worrying about this stuff, that will *never* be answered here, and just get the basic stuff right. The secret knowledge is that it's all about the roots, get the roots right and everything else should follow.

Defending HPS in a LED world

Like all fundamental particles and forces, all photons are the same they have no distinguishing characteristics other than their intrinsic quantum properties. It makes no difference at all where the photons come from, hid or led, all that matters to your plants is the wavelength. LED's could be...

The small pyramid is a great way to begin to understand these things. I tried a starter plug in the cube and the result is just like a solo cup but without the inherent solo cup problems of watering or overbalancing.
