New Grower Looking to Setup Grow Tent in Garage

ACI is kind of the Apple of the tent world. Everything just works together and yeah you'll pay a little more but it's a great value proposition. In my eyes anyway.

You'll want to know about chlorine/chloramines and Ph mostly. I just moved to the city and whilst I never had a problem with water before, I do now that's to our medieval infrastructure. It's probably fine right out of the tap but you should know if it is or isn't. My Ph is 9.2 out of the tap...

I like the red too. And you can trust HLG's numbers, I'm not really sure about budget light companies numbers for PPFD, efficiency etc.

You would not as the light has two quantum boards on a rectangular heat sink so they are built for a rectangular growing space. It a quality company and a better light IMHO. Yes, it will cost more but lights (and soil) are where you want to put your money. More than one way to skin a cat...

I'm a believer in the AC Infinity fan/controller it's so convenient. You can definitely cheap out on the tent. I would buck up and get these lights though...you'll get much better coverage and an extra 110 watts. Your plants will thank you...

    Is This Powdery Mildew?

I'm nobodies expert on pests but that looks like thrips to me as well. In your first picture on the middle leaf on the left side of the midrib I think you'll see one of the offending bastards. It's said that spinosad is safe to use but I hate to spray anything other than water on my plants...

    PH'ing tap water

I can second this, I moved recently and went from county water to city water and my first grow on city water went to shit and couldn't figure out why until I found out the city water is super alkaline. According to the posted city test ( https://www.stlwater.com/water-quality/ccr2022.pdf...

While they have the benefit of being firmly entrenched in the US economy and I don't see that changing they have some serious corporate culture issues and it's not the Boeing of old since the merger with MD. That's not a recommendation one way or another as I sold in summer of '21 and haven't...
